I have been working at Continental full-time (less than a year)

    Pros

I still have not found anything positive

    Cons

No respect, always "not my responsibility" attitude, salary (lot of variable pay which is included in CTC, no one tells how we get this)

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Please remove the variable pay structure in CTC if you do not have any tool to measure a employees objectives.
Train the HOD's how to maintain a healthy relationship with their reportees. Ask them to stop threatening new joinees saying if they do not complete the tasks, they will not be confirmed after probation.

Current Employee - Production Support in Fletcher, NC

I have been working at Continental full-time (more than 3 years)

    Pros

For Professionals - Salary, Holiday, Vacation, genuinely good people
For the plant - continued growth of new products - stability in an automotive market.

    Cons

This plant makes brake calipers and is headquartered in Frankfurt Germany, so Germany calls the shots - lots of lipstick put on a pig to make it look good but not function better.

For professionals - long hours, too many projects, tight deadlines, few growth opportunities

For the plant - 12 hr shifts - repetitive motion, lifting heavy castings all day, little training and high expectations on quality on unstable processes

    MicroManagement

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Focus on the vital few improvements and get them done right the first time - then on to the next

I worked at Continental full-time (more than a year)

    Pros

Big company, with many possibilities for a promotion. Good learning curve.

    Cons

Because it's a factory envirounment, you get all the typical bs from upper management.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Listen to your employees, some of them are driven, motivated and loyal; you loose a lot of creative spirit by not listening to others perspective.

I worked at Continental full-time (more than 3 years)

    Pros

Generous 401K matching (of course no traditional pension plan). Paid time off was also above average.

    Cons

Moved our jobs out of the country and closed down our location!! The after some of the transition failed, moved some of the products back to the US. (to a different state)

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Don't be so short sighted and think the best case scenarios laid out by the MBAs will actually come true and work out for the company. Products are usually more complicated and the US workforce is more talented than the spreadsheet recognizes.
