I have been working at Convergys full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Above minimum wage pay + bonus. Will hire anyone so if you need a temp. job while finding something better this would be a place to apply.

    Cons

Management needs to be completely wiped out and start over. The process for picking coaches, TLs, Supervisors etc needs to be rethought. Agents need to be treated better, given more training, and not subject to abuse by those they are to look to for help. This company has lived up to every nasty rumor that has ever been spread about it. There's a reason they are always hiring.

    Advice to Management

Stop promoting from transition. If a person has never actually done the job how are they ever going to teach someone to do the job. From coaches to OMs and site managers needs to be replaced and start over with those that want to make this company better.

I worked at Convergys full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Great benefits and a good opportunity with great training. I would work for this company again if given a set schedule.

    Cons

Schedule is always changing with random days and hours, and sometimes Team Leaders put to much responsibility on your shoulders with little accommodations , too many softwares to log onto with always changing passwords , and your resource ( Agent Answer Center) is thrown together and sloppy as if no one knows what is really going on. no one is actually concerned with CUSTOMER SERVICE yet with sells and and obsessed with bundles which within the internet partners is almost impossible.

    Advice to Management

training needs to be longer so that the trainers have time to instill what truly is important to keep this business from going under at least on the direct tv project/ AT&T merger. (god bless whomever is over the AT&T switch because it is a nightmare. Agent answer center NEEDS TO BE REVISED URGENTLY.

I worked at Convergys (Less than a year)

    Pros

Pay was pretty good but no other pros

    Cons

First of all HR needs to get it together. I applied for maternity leave a total of 7 times and they denied every time giving reasons like they didn't receive the paperwork even tho I sent it certified mail. Second, maybe if you treated your employees better and took the time to train them instead of down them you wouldn't have such a high turn over rate!

    Advice to Management

Treat your employees better in EVERY aspect

I worked at Convergys full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Fast paced environment. learn as you go on the job. Every call is different. Training is good. Compensation is always changing. Sometimes you get paid, sometimes you don't.

    Cons

Office culture is bad. There is no work life balance. The hours are always changing. You can never schedule outside activities because your schedule constantly changes. You are never paid what you are owed or when you are owed it.

    Advice to Management

Work with your employees. Appreciate the work they do. Pay them as they are due to be paid.

    Pros

The efficiency of operations through the use of the computers as client services aids and training tools

    Cons

Not enough of a hands-on managerial approach: managers should be more assessable to new employees and offer more guidance

    Advice to Management

managers should be more assessable to new employees and offer more guidance Train your people in O.D.P. (open door policy)

I worked at Convergys full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

Definitely the pay 10.00 an hour plus bonus checks

    Cons

Schedule is never consistent, point system is jack up. If you miss a day of work due to emergency and you bring a legit excuse for example a doctor's note you still get a point. If you miss more than one day and bring a doctor's note they roll it into one point. So not getting a point is impossible even for legit reasons. Management is terrible.

    Advice to Management

Train the coaches better, 3 different coaches will inform you on three different things so you never really know the right way to handle things.

I worked at Convergys full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

The best reasons are the pay and the incentives.

    Cons

I would say dealing with irate customers was my biggest challenge.

    Advice to Management

    Listen to employees concerns

I worked at Convergys full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

-$10/hr base pay starting out -Monthly sales commission -Decent health benefits (eye, dental, and medical) -40+ hours a week -UTO & PTO

    Cons

-High turn-over rates -New hires have two weeks on the floor in sales department before quickly being moved to CRG (retention department) whether they have a choice in the matter. -The management is not great. -Some team leaders on the floor are unreliable as team leaders (never available, etc) -Sitting all day in cubicle -Too many staff to find a free computer before being late trying to get logged into one -High stress level job at times

    Advice to Management

-Be available more to better supervise those under you, because the chosen team leaders could have been chosen more carefully. -The team meetings are sometimes completely ineffective and just took time away from making more sales, bundles, or "saves" in retention department -In order to take time off in advance, don't make employees jump through hoops trying to get ahold of floor support, etc. If someone says they can fill in for another employee or trade shifts, the policy is ridiculous. Employees have to fill in for it through work computers 24 hours in advance (Not 23 hours but right at 24) and aren't shown how to prior. -Alot of the training is unimportant facts trainees never remember about the first satellite, etc, and could be shortened to one week instead of two.
