Pros
It's an interesting software business in the Orlando, Florida area
Cons
Shrinking software business, what's left is a niche IT call center software business and a shell of its original billing software business
Advice to Senior Management
Stop with this long running delusion that you can leverage a significant amount of your software business into your strong growing call center business. The customer organization(support) that hires Convergys for call center personnel is not the same customer organization(s) that selects technology to solve their business problems.
Pros
Competitive pay compared to other call centers in the area. The benefits are sufficient and you get to interact with upper management on a regular basis. Training is very thorough and opportunities to move around the company are not seldom.
Cons
If program closes it is sometimes difficult to get placed with another client. Also, there is an abundance of college students and early 20 somethings sometimes feels like your back in high school. Very relaxed atmosphere at times depends on management at that particular time does get confusing at times.
Advice to Senior Management
Continue to hire from within and maintaining a positive culture. Provide more options for employees who are being terminated due to a program closing.
Pros
Friendly Coworkers, Schedule Preference, OT available, Most of the customers are great to get along with as well
Cons
Convergys looks for any reason to layoff employees. I've seen the best employees laid off for reasons that were ridiculous
Advice to Senior Management
Stop firing your best workers and your company would be better off.
Pros
I love using my technical knowledge to help others, this job allows me to utilize my skills and personallity.
Cons
You have to enjoy helping people, frustrated, angry, curious or just wanting advice.
Advice to Senior Management
Please don't get greedy and lose clients or good agents.
Pros
pay, hours, benefits, software, location
Cons
training does not prepare you enough, ever changing schedules, high stress
Advice to Senior Management
prepare your new hires better before they take calls, you would have a lot less people leave
Pros
Free training. Basically the job in the way of the job you want
Cons
Management has little to no experience dealing with global companies. Call center
Pros
The work is easy, not a difficult job.
Cons
No room for growth. The pay is too low and management has no clue how to speak to employees. The director of operations is very unfriendly and unapproachable.
Advice to Senior Management
Instead of pointing out what employees do wrong, complement on what is done right. Maybe then you wouldn't have such a revolving door to this company. Also being sympathetic or showing "empathy" to employees outside lives would keep people there. I'm just saying.
Pros
Pay, benefits, commute, area restaurants, easy job, flexibility, time off, hours, free products, retirement, many sites where you can transfer to, international company
Cons
Work environment is chaotic, physical plant is filthy, poor communication, management is out of touch, inconsistent and unfair business practices
Advice to Senior Management
Communicate with your employees, be fair and consistent, let employees know what is going on and why, be authentic, walk the talk
Pros
The location was convenient and the pay was good.
Cons
They have been laying people off and the overall culture of the company is one of distance between and employees. No one really seems happy to bet here.
Advice to Senior Management
Culture is going to be your biggest problem. You must revamp the way that business is done internally to foster more employee support.
Pros
energetic environment yet very chill.
Cons
Hours vary based on call demand
Advice to Senior Management
Reps are people too. No power trips
