Advice to Senior Management
HIGHER WAGES
Pros
-They will give you an opportunity if you show you are competent.
-They give you the chance to work in the industry outside of the company, as they pay for certification and education.
-Their attendance policy was very generous.
Cons
-There is not a good balance between subjective and objective employment reviews. It is all objective.
-The communication between management and the rank and file is too inconsistent.
-There is not enough verbal communication or coaching to the rank and file.
-The entire time I worked at Convergys--8 years--I never knew who the CEO was.
-They are not good at keeping contracts they win.
-The were too controlled by the company the contract was with. I was unsure who I was working for.
Advice to Senior Management
I missed the opportunity to have an exit interview and discuss with a manager, in person, about the company and the circumstances of my departure.
Pros
The people. Work hour flexibility, and we can work from home if we need/want to. The salary is "almost" fair for the work I do, the benefits are I suppose as good as they can be given these rough economic times. There is always work to do, and opportunities to make friends all over the country.
Cons
Management has a very agressive, almost threatening leadership style.
There is no such thing as a "vacation", because there is nobody to act as a backup when someone is on vacation.
Advice to Senior Management
Stop threatening - after a while you begin to sound like the boy who cried wolf!
Pros
The work itself is easy and its a steady paycheck with ok benes.
Cons
COnfined to a computer screen and constant talking and listening to mostly upset people.
Advice to Senior Management
Look in zappos
Pros
- Nice people
- work with your schedule
- PTO build up good compared to other company's
Cons
-Parking is always packed
-enforcement of dress code varies each day
Advice to Senior Management
Please if you are going to have a dress code please make everyone follow it. Also please have better parking that's better light.
Pros
Good pay for what you're doing. You start gaining paid time off from the first day of training. A lot of team leaders will work with you if you need to take a day off for something important. 12 point attendance system and points will fall off within a rolling year (for example, if you called off on May 12, the next year on May 12 you will gain the point back for it). You can also earn points back by getting 50 Convergys bucks, working when point earn backs are offered, or having perfect attendance for 30 days straight. Also, you can apply for benefits within the first 30 days, but there are also more opportunities every 6 months to apply again if you miss the date.
Cons
If you have over 5 attendance points, you won't get promoted to anything, regardless of what you're told. A lot of favoritism goes on between operations managers, team leads, and agents, which is why a lot of people who deserve promotions will not get them, regardless of how hard they work.
Advice to Senior Management
If the employee is fully competent and has all the experience and skills needed, you shouldn't worry about how many points they have, just promote them. You may also want to dive in a little more deep about what is going on within the company.
Pros
10 paid holidays a year. Unpaid time every quarter.
Cons
Just about everything. The place is filthy. Dust dropping from the vents all over the desks. So hard to feel confident about the service provide. Easy to have bad day haunt you in a dream. So hard to leave work there when off. Always wondering what you have charged against you.
Advice to Senior Management
Stop taking credit for the work of your employees. Expectations you have you cannot meet yourself. The higher on the chain, the more lazy and dishonest you are. Stop passing the buck and collecing a paycheck without earning one!
Pros
The pay wasn't bad, and it was clost to home
Cons
they treat you like dirt and the red flag behavior is a joke.
Advice to Senior Management
try being human and don't just red flag, explain to us and give us a chance to correct something
Pros
If you are into BPO career growth, then Convergys can be your holy ground. What's great is the people whom I have worked with. They have been supportive and are always ready to share their knowledge and extend any help. I have always enjoyed working with people here over the years. It makes the stressful job easy and worthwhile. The benefits are good too, a retirement package is irresistible and a not-so-long bond. Professional growth is great, as you get exposed to things you want to learn, so as long you are sure about your career path.
Cons
Aside from the graveyard shift which made my body clock messed up, the compensation isn't worth your time and efforts. (I'm talking about the account I was assigned to).
I was given a bigger responsibility, as a means towards promotion, and it was okay - at first. I like the fact that I was trusted enough to handle this particular task. What was not is when it went beyond the discussed time frame. I didn't like that I was not given any other option for career growth, as I was gunning for a different career path, other than taking in calls, evaluating and listening to calls, and coaching agents who are even paid higher than I do.
There must be a better "leveling" of pay across the board. It was painstaking to see tenured employees getting transferred to other accounts and are not valued well. Newer ones get higher pays, even though their performance is not at par.

Advice to Senior Management
It could have been a better place to work at, had it not been for the cons I have mentioned above. This was already brought up to the management and it could have been much better if they had not only listened, but really paid attention and have done something about it. It seemed like they are more after pleasing the clients than looking after the employees' concern at the same time.
I think this is more about "good" balance between pleasing the client and the employees. Both are important. But I wouldn't have left if the management was only able to see people not as numbers, but as people who produce the numbers, people capable of getting hurt and exhausted.
Please, dear management, do something about valuing people, because the more you value them, the higher your numbers will be, the more you can please the clients.
Other than this, I'm satisfied with how you are always (most managers are, though not all of them) approachable and always willing to give insights about things. Keep it up. I wish you all the luck.
Pros
job satisfaction is there , ease of work is there, good environment is there, growth opportunity are very high. lovely place to work
Cons
twenty four seven shifts., cab facilty, infrastructure. located at a far away distance, no indian holidays provided. work load is high
