    Pros

They will take anyone willing to work and train them. They try to stay competitive in the starting salary of agents against the local market. Benefits are great

    Cons

you dont always get the hours you want to work. All new associates start on the late shifts and weekend. Preferred hours are based on meeting performance metrix

    Advice to Management

Listen and be active in agents needs . Keep up the technology needed to do the job and make training always available, not just to new hires

    Pros

An amazing place to work and grow as an employee. I was able to finish college while working for Convergys and since I had a degree in business, most of it was paid for by Convergys. Convergys also gives a person a chance to see the world if they are interested in traveling to support other centers. Convergys is also a great place to work if you have a family. Most programs that Convergys supports offer time off during holidays. It is also very easy, with proper planning, to get time off for other family events.

    Cons

Like any other company, Convergys is constantly shifting its focus. As a result, some job positions may become unstable.

    Advice to Management

Don't be surprised if your employees work harder if you keep them in the loop. Too often Sr. Mgmt keeps their employees in the dark about changes. So when they happen, people lose respect.

  3. Convergys is a complex, forward-thinking company.

    Pros

Convergys is a very large, complex company with multiple locations and business units. Professional level positions benefit from strong Talent Development and Management Development programs which help identify and coach top performers to help them move ahead in their careers. In call center locations, work schedules can be very flexible or can sometimes work-at-home. Benefits are good. In most areas, effort is made to keep work-life issues in balance.

    Cons

Things are always changing. RIFs do occur often due to changing business needs (ie. when large contracts are lost). You have to be able to adapt to new reporting structures and ways of doing things.

    Pros

Convergys is a global company with lots of smart, hardworking people. There are opportunities to take on new responsibilities and the company offers excellent training.

    Cons

The Convergys business model and high G&A expense has led to uncertain profitability and the company has a had Reduction in Force initiatives over the last several years. Be prepared to work extraordinary hours.

    Advice to Management

Continue to focus on components of business where technology can be leveraged, thus increasing profitability. Make sure that the best people are being promoted and watch out for political maneuvering amongst senior leadership.

    Pros

Flexability in scheduleing. Very willing to work with school schedules. Time of arrnaged when I needed it. Competitive pay, not the best, but far from the worst call center pay in town. Great benifits and paid time off, especially for what amounts to unskilled (entry level) work.

    Cons

Pay, while competitive, could be better. Like any entry level job there are allot of folks who are there that don't take the job very seriously. Can get boring at times, as the job doesn't vary much. Human Resources not very helpful.

    Advice to Management

Its a good company, and a good example of how a call center should be run. That being said some of the policies don't make allot of sense. The way scorecards work is is little odd. Make points at 0.01 PTV, and then nothing for a perfect PTV ? Very strange.

    Pros

I enjoy working for a publicly traded company, this affords plenty of opportunity for advancement. Maybe the stock will go up rapidly.

    Cons

The only downside about working at Convergys is that the commute could not be shorter, I really like short commutes. The commute is not that long at all anyway.

    Advice to Management

I personally enjoy being an addition to Convergys. I feel that I will be a great asset to the company and that I will be a competitor in every sense of the word

I have been working at Convergys full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

flexible schedule, good pay, great coworkers

    Cons

management can be very irritating with conflicting agendas, moving up can be tough unless you're in the top 10% and the tuition assistance could be better.

    Advice to Management

We could use a better 401 match or better incentives with our current client.

I have been working at Convergys full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

You work from the comfort of your home taking customer service calls. You also can get benefits and bonuses every month for your sales. You can get direct deposit or deposit directly onto a bank card that Convergys supply u with.

    Cons

You must be flexible to constant change like most call center environments even though you work from home.

    Advice to Management

Management is great! It would be much better if everyone was on one page with information, rules and regulations!
