I worked at Converseon as a contractor for less than a year

    Pros

Super friendly people, working from home, independent.

    Cons

Communication is not efficient, it's just a few projects once or twice a year and then you have to be into it for between 10 to 20 hours per week on top of your other projects, side job, etc.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Train your project manager to communicate clearly, fast and efficient to avoid the back and forth, clarifying every time a new task or question comes up, etc.

    Pros

Great clients, real open door policy, leadership really listens, hours flexible as long as work gets done. Access to all members of leadership team - even CEO.

I have been working at Converseon full-time

    Pros

Fantastic clients, wonderful teams, endless opportunities to shine, grow and network.

    Cons

Long hours, processes a work in progress

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Ask employees to critique their team. Don't only trust the criticisms of a select few mgrs when everyone can provide feedback on employee performance, especially the clients themselves.

I worked at Converseon full-time for more than a year

    Pros

First, Converseon has an exceptionally talented and friendly team. This applies to all levels of employees. Everyone goes out of their way to ensure the highest possible quality of products delivered to clients, everyone is ready to take on additional responsibilities to make this happen. It was always very pleasant to be in the office around those people every day. Converseon seems to be a magnet for great people.

Secondly, as an employee you are exposed to a lively and innovative environment in a new, quickly developing and highly interesting market. All employees have great opportunities to contribute their own ideas and participate in the process of product development as well. Employees are generally very trusted and encouraged to independently lead projects. This allows you to take on more responsibilities and develop great set of skills.

Thirdly, Converseon has a very diverse and impressive set of clients representing a wide array of industries. It allows you to learn a lot about the companies, the specifics of their businesses and marketing strategies.

Finally, Converseon has a great office location in Midtown New York and offers its employees some nice small benefits like summer Fridays and an opportunity to take the day off for your birthday to enjoy the city.

    Cons

As a pioneer of a new business niche, Converseon often has to deal with unexpected challenges. As an employee at Converseon sometimes you pay for it by working later than you want to.

I have been working at Converseon full-time for more than 3 years

    Pros

    Fun, smart people
Great benefits, good balance of life/work
CEO and senior leadership care about the employees
Lean and entrepreneurial environment with boundless opportunity for those with initiative

    Cons

Mistakes made in hiring people who didn't fit culturally and spread negativity, during and post employment
While company mission has remained the same the road taken has sometimes caused the resources to be spread too thin
Employees who lack self-direction can become lost
    Internal communication could be better

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Employees don't always know what the latest news is -- champion yourself more

Great reputation.. Looks good on resume
    Front lines With top clients
    You'll get your hands dirty

    Cons

    Coukd have better onboarding
Some transitions here was some dead weight employees but those have pretty much been let go.

I have been working at Converseon full-time for more than a year

    Pros

great reputation -- most people who have left here (and were any good) got great jobs
    Hands on senior management
    Great clients
Small enough to be collegial but big enough to be able to work on bigger clients

I've been here long enough to see who will do well and who won't. If you're a self starter, motivated, then the sky is the limit. But if you want to work in a highly structured environment, steer clear. You need to make your own way here and prove your value. Not everyone sticks and it's not for everyone

    Cons

Not alot of structure -- for those who like that sort of thing
Groups have been a little segregated -- sometimes don't work with each other enough
    Onboarding and training needs help

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

A little more structure would help and getting teams more aligned and integrated would be good. Make sure you hire people that can flourish in a "start up feel" place...some hires haven't been the best and it's impacted other people's ability to get work done well.
