Upper management does not always make the best decisions when it comes to deciding where and what to invest time and money in.

Advice to Senior Management
Need to provide better platforms and pursue aggresively global opportunities. Lots of missed opportunities in China, India & South East Asia.
Pros
I love manufacturing, and I was able to drive many projects and processes that helped the working personnel.
Cons
No matter what you do or how good you do it, your job will be exported just as soon as Cooper finds a way to do it
Advice to Senior Management
Invest in America and its workers. You exported tools to China and lost the Lowes account because of it. Cooper Execs are myopic idiots.
Pros
Regarding Cooper Notifications side of Cooper Industries.
Lots of responsibility and a lots of work for those type of individuals who like control. Very fast moving envirnoment, with changes happening every hour.
Cons
Regarding Cooper Notifications side of Cooper Industries.
Management
Unrecognized engineering/manufacturing design problems resulted in project management night mares that management didn't know how to respond to, other than throwing more of it's staff under the train.
Advice to Senior Management
Regarding Cooper Notifications side of Cooper Industries.
Management's answer of having the staff to continously improvise and coming up with alternate work around solutions took up more time than putting the rigth resources on the problem.
Pros
If you want to climb the corporate ladder be prepared to move when an opportunity arises. Good pay and benefits (besides time off)
Cons
Not the most demanding job but there is a lot of potential to move up. Not enough time off. Not very challenging.
Advice to Senior Management
Need to communicate expectations better and expect more out of high potential employees. Don't force employees out if they don't want to move up.
Pros
They have been flexible with my Worklife Balance. They have perks for employees at corporate by giving their employees tickets to the Ballet, Astros, Texans and any other venues that they are members of;.
Cons
Do not pay well! Do not establish pay for performance. Do not like their employee benefits programs. The whole benefits group needs to go!
Advice to Senior Management
Set goals for employees, and if they meet those goals they need to be compensated.
Pros
The rewards are there if you put the effort in.
Cons
It is not a 40 hour per week job...
Advice to Senior Management
Focusing internally is not bad, but don't take your eyes off of the customer.
