    Pros

Great company, very diverse. Excellent overall oportunities to grow career and advance into upper managment. Good environment, not overly political. Energetic group of leaders.

    Cons

Being as large as it is, there exists a possiblity of getting lost if you don't stand out. Good group of people, but can take a while to become an "insider" as many have worked together for a long time.

    Advice to Management

Keep the company growing the way that it is. Great leadership through tough times, hopefully we'll be pulling through them stronger than before.

    Pros

Glad to no longer be associated with this company.

    Cons

Regret ever being involved with this organization. Experienced an environment of less than straight forward communication with employees. Direct questions often sidestepped or left unanswered entirely. This company views due diligence as the primary factor in managing personnel.

    Pros

Cooper is now EATON Corporation and has a very large presence in the world. travel to the other countries was part of the exciting work. The salary was good for the job I did. Exciting work, training an enthusiastic group of people even with language barriers.

    Cons

Excessive amount of travel , takes a toll on your physical being and family life.

    Advice to Management

Don't treat your employees like an old shoe only to be discarded at will. Take care of them and respect their family needs when they are taking care of your business needs. These long travel times and separations do affect peoples lives and causes upheavals due to breakups, separations and divorces..... Allow people to recover from jet lag and don't expect them to come to work the very next day after their return from travel to distant places.

    Pros

My position at Cooper Lighting has given me the opportunity to manage a $100MM+ sales territory just shy of my 30th birthday, and even thought the company was sold to Eaton Corp today I do not have a bad thing to say about the company. Are there the typical corporate headaches? Of course, but for the most part as long as you do a great job they let you do your thing. I am now looking forward to transitioning into an Eaton employee, and look forward to the opportunity to get into international sales with Eaton sometime down the road.

    Cons

There is a lack of communication from the top down. Also, from a Cooper Lighting perspective we are perceived in the market as having low price product lines, but that is simply not the case. A poor marketing strategy set in place years ago built this perception that we cannot seem to shake.

    Advice to Management

Creating a new ease of business strategy coupled with a new marketing brand will do wonders for the way Cooper Lighting is perceived in the market.
