Former Employee – worked at Cooper Tire & Rubber full-time for more than 10 years
Pros – good money, I liked the work
Cons – long hours, changing production numbers too high so as not to get bonus. closed the wrong plant
When they closed our plant they would not let us transfer but, would let us move and start at the new higher pay.

Former Employee – worked at Cooper Tire & Rubber full-time for more than 3 years
Pros – I liked my co-workers and enjoyed working with them. Working at a manufacturing plant was also interesting... getting to see the process and having tangible products. HR would try to spread the company's philosophies and beliefs.
Cons – Frequently the decisions (by higher management) seemed to stand in the way of progress. Even after discussing pros and cons of a decision with my manger and other team members, we couldn't make (what we felt was) the right decision because we were overridden. It was very frustrating. Additionally, HR or management would frequently officially tell you things that were obviously not true (months later). It got to the point that you couldn't trust them.
Advice to Senior Management – Spend more time considering the impact of decisions.

Current Employee – been working at Cooper Tire & Rubber full-time
Pros – memories of how things used to be...employees long for management of years gone by that knew what they were doing
Cons – management constantly seeking ways to take more from employees...especially non union plant...management says that don't want unions but prove they work...steal pensions and benefits from profitable plant and give to less productive plants...example for one particular job pay is 28.00 and 30.00 dollars at union plants and 10.20 non union...also twice as much produced from non union with half the people
Advice to Senior Management – reward those that keep the company afloat

Former Employee – worked at Cooper Tire & Rubber full-time for more than a year
Pros – No pros if you work there except for the fact that people who do the ground work are far better people than top management.
Cons – Poor top management decisions and vision statement is fake and not followed by anyone. This company cannot go global because they have no ethics, even working with senior managers. Be a lier and you will win in this company. No growth opportunity as very flat organization. Please work for a startup than for Cooper Tires.
Advice to Senior Management – Change your management style and please hire people with ethics on the top roles. Pay people their dues and do not play with somebody hard earned money.

Pros – the pay for those that have worked there for a long period
Cons – Cancer death rates, long work hours, not treated with respect, poor insurance, has gone downhill steadily for the past 20 years.
Advice to Senior Management – Should need a college course in how to handle workers with respect.

Current Employee – been working at Cooper Tire & Rubber
Pros – Cooper tire is a good paying job and I like the idea of working 2 days on and 2 days..
Cons – Not really much to say about the cons of working at Cooper tire..it's hard work but it's worth it..If you can't handle it go work at Buger King..
Advice to Senior Management – all machines that do the same job should have the same rate. When machine A can only get 5 hours over production in a 12 hour workshift and macine B can get up to 12 hours over production in a 12 shift. It doesn't seem fair. when both machines make the same amount of cuts is a 12 hr shift.. Operators have advised their Superiors but are ignored or over looked..
