    Pros

They obviously care about their employees and give them great discounts on food and wine All of my co- workers are awesome and have helped me learn a lot

    Cons

The training wasn't very effective Some of the managers seem a little distant and only seem to care that you're doing your job right

    Advice to Management

Get to know new employees better, be more involved with their training

    Pros

Flexible hours, great menu, outstanding leadership.

    Cons

Menu is dictated by Chicago consumers, we had a lot of items that were loved by Kansas City but were removed because consumers in Chicago weren't crazy about them. I had a lot of tables walk away after menu changes because their favorite menu items were no longer available.

    Pros

Great coworkers The food is good Money can be okay but you'd have to work a lot of doubles just to pay your bills

    Cons

Management needs a lot of work -they have no faith in their team -they are condescending -they are lazy -they do things out of spite -they show no appreciation for their staff -they make stressful situations worse -they are not approachable The kitchen staff is a disaster -25 minute appetizers -40 minute entrees -still comes out wrong The air doesn't work half the time The plumbing always backs up The ceiling falls in and leaks when it rains Inconsistent money The schedules are always messed up Tip out to the bar is WAY too much

    Advice to Management

Walk a mile in your staffs shoes. For 1 week each, with no management power, cook on the line, serve tables, bartend and work the TR. Someone else makes your schedule and decides when you're cut. Then you'll hopefully understand your staff a little more and make you better at handling certain things.

    Pros

Good food, decent wine. Provides a great value across the board for customers so a lot of repeat traffic.

    Cons

Money is very inconsistent. Turning tables can be hard to do as guest stay long over a glass of wine.

    Advice to Management

Maybe rotate sections more or closing/opening shifts. Hard to make a consistent living there.

    Pros

Great management team! They are a growing company and they love to promote from within. Earn extra money and prizes by selling Wine Clubs.

    Cons

There are very few downsides to working here outside of the downsides that are involved in any other restaurant job.

    Pros

Fun work environment, team approach, great food, tons of room for advancement and relocation, hands on training and a great CEO. They truly want you to enjoy your job. They also put out a yearly survey to find out what we are doing well on and where we can improve. Things like the survey make me feel like they truly care. When they see a chance to improve, they take it.

    Cons

The company is growing at a fast rate. I just hope to remain a privately held organization and stick to our values and caring about people, more than the bottom line.

    Advice to Management

I think the ethics hotline is a great addition because people need a chance to be heard anonymously.

    Pros

Discounts on food and wine are nice but don't expect to be relaxed as managers are always changing and adding unnecessary pressure when you are busy taking care pf the most important part of your job and that is the GUESTS.

    Cons

Schedules are a problem and inconsistent from manager to manager, all managers talk about are sell the wine clubs so they can get their bonus, wages are not that great for as much as you run around and sweat when super busy, not an open door policy because I was told to find another job when I asked if I could serve to make some extra money instead of just being in the tasting room.

    Advice to Management

Listen to all your employees and don't just try and talk everthing up so you and your fellow managers can get bonuses and promotions.
