I have been working at Coperion full-time (more than 5 years)

    Pros

The company culture has been better than average with most employees enjoying their work and environment. Very concerned for employee safety. Compensation for salaried people is far better than for hourly people. PTO is better than average company.

    Cons

Salary for most hourly employees is not up to par. Company gets a lot of bang for its buck. Upper management is out of touch with the inner goings on around the company. Many employees feel company is making a big mistake relocating its Ramsey headquarters to three different building across USA. Company is putting profits over people.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Should have spent more time thinking about breaking up a successful company. Company may not have realized that the majority of employees are not interested in re-locating. Instead of forcing a 3% 401k contribution on us they should have given out raises this year.

I worked at Coperion full-time (more than 8 years)

    Pros

Many talented employees to learn from. Great product with strong presence in the industry.

    Cons

Upper management has NO decision making capabilities what so ever. Items become stagnant due to this weakness and ultimately results in disgruntled personnel and customers. Very very poor communication. Seems like the leaders are more sales oriented and spend much too much coddling personnel they are fearful of.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Should be more proactive in decisions where personnel, management and projects are concerned. Never a sense of urgency to own location.

I worked at Coperion full-time (less than an year)

    Pros

Initial variety of work and customers

    Cons

Becomes repetitive over time because it's basically polymer processing and occasionally food.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Upgrade the building a bit, very old fashioned.

I worked at Coperion full-time (more than an year)

    Pros

Employees who have been there for a long time are very knowledgeable in their specific roles. Decent place to learn many contacts and move to another company.

    Cons

Very little room for growth, Upper Management doesn't communicate well what they want. you are hired for one position but are expected to perform the job of four because of dissatisfied employees leave consistently. People consistently speak behind others backs which creates an environment of distrust and non-cohesiveness.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Senior Management needs to communicate better, do not make assumptions based on telephone style information.

I have been working at Coperion full-time (more than 8 years)

    Pros

Salary is ok, good work atmosphere on site, realative freedom while working away from head office, flexible solutions for problems

    Cons

Perspective of further development is not there, leaders don't know the skills of their personnel, planning for site jobs is quite chaotic, workforce is planned not according to skills, support and processes are still poor

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Lots of money is burned due to poor planning, why not connect part of the salary to success?

I have been working at Coperion

    Pros

Interesting diversity of customers. At time there is interesting travel. S

    Cons

Management is totally out of touch with operational reality. The goal is to make the next quarter's numbers even if it is hurting the company and it customers long term. The upper management has its head in the sand on all of its operational problems. There is absolutely zero reward for individual effort and initiative and zero penalty for making mistakes and having a 9 to 5 mentality.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Realize that in the US at least, the organization is VERY old and a succession plan is long overdue. Admit that there are operational problems and try to fix them.
