I have been working at Cordis as a contractor (more than an year)

    Pros

Stability, Flexible Schedule and some room to be creative. You must manage your superiors and be expected to exceed expectations and meet deadlines.

    Cons

Not room for growth within the communications field. Most positions are contracts (Temp-employees), therefore - no benefits. If you are looking for a stable job (two-year max), go for it. There's a lot to learn.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Some positions need to be made permanent.

I have been working at Cordis (more than an year)

    Pros

Great opportunity for personal career development. Compensation is very good and it is not hard to move within the company. The fellow workers seem to be helpful and understanding of the company's values.

    Cons

The company seems to be reducing in size, and personnel. The job security is not very strong anymore. Communication is also sometimes a problem between the branches located in different parts.

I have been working at Cordis as a contractor (less than an year)

    Pros

Technically part of J&J so benefits are pretty good, though it doesn't feel like other parts of J&J. It doesn't take much talent to stay at Cordis--once you're in, you can stay forever.

    Cons

Shady about possible relocation to California, not much potential for development (everybody gets stuck at Senior Analyst). Decisions are centered around making things easier for sales force and not always logical.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Change your strategies--and fast! Get rid of consignment while you're at it, the company is literally bleeding money.

Current Employee - Anonymous Employee in Fremont, CA

I have been working at Cordis full-time (more than an year)

    Pros

Great peers - intelligent and friendly

    Cons

Mediocre managers and directors - No sense of planning projects and milestones. Just driven by timelines without thinking about stress levels of team members. Pretty selfish R&D management who don't care about other departments like Mfg/Operations, QA, Reg Affairs

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Schedule is not the only critical part of a Project, try injecting some sense of solid plans and risk mitigation from top down.

    Doesn't Recommend
    Disapproves of CEO
