    I have been working at Core Security full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

    Everything! Managers are flexible and easy to work with. Great work environment (Positive, uplifting and encouraging) Good work/life balance Pay is good Good amount of time off good company values CEO is willing to help you out

    Cons

    None that I can think of. Being extremely critical, training could be slightly better, however if you ask for help, someone will find the answer for you.

    Advice to Management

    Keep doing what you're doing!

    Pros

    Easy to get promoted, they don't fire you if you stink at your job

    Cons

    Bad product, poor leadership, CEO is lost, No real chance at making money, no engineers to improve product

    Advice to Management

    shut it down and sell the place

    I worked at Core Security full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

    Technology, Employees are the key to this fledgling organization. Their desktop product is unparalleled. Their enterprise product, however, does not solve any particular problem or have enough value for its cost. The product does not really work and does not provide much value for the dollar.

    Cons

    There is so much turnover. The people left have no idea what the technology does, or the overall ecosystem of vulnerability management. It appears the long slide is just about complete and all of the brain power in the company is now gone.

    Advice to Management

    Nothing to add. They won't accept their shortcomings.

    I have been working at Core Security full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

    This is a great place to work! The people are fantastic, we have many corporate events, a Foosball table, President's Club and a work hard play hard mentality. Core pays 90% of health insurance benefits. We have recently gone through a re-org with a new VP of sales and a new VP of marketing, they are taking this company to a whole new level. They have promoted over 10 people within in since October 2013.

    Cons

    Gone through some management changes mid 2013, which caused some turnover.

    Advice to Management

    Keep with the vision of people first! Continue to bring Core to the next level.

    I worked at Core Security full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

    There are some good people here mainly on the technical sales engineering side. The Impact product has been around for years and is very solid.

    Cons

    The company is going through leadership and product management changes and really needs to figure out the sales model for the US . The company hired numerous individuals in 2012 based upon VC but did a poor job of forecasting sales pipeline. Numerous individuals have left. The Insight product is buggy and needs further work before it becomes a mature product. There are also internal company politics between product engineering and other parts of the company. .

    Advice to Management

    Fix the Insight product, figure out the sale model for the US, forecast pipeline better.

    Pros

    Very sociable and open door policy; plenty of people to bounce ideas off. People do their work and the department is close knit.

    Cons

    If you're not that sociable it's hard to find a solid footing here. Upper management is way out of touch with the product and seems to be covering up for more mistakes make than reinforcing the progress made.

    Advice to Management

    Obviously your investors are important and you want to look good in front of them, but before you make decisions, check with those involved in your promises and intentions. In war you might get a medal for "just doing it", but at work it's just a decision made that goes against the grainand further alienates you from your supportive staff.

    Pros

    Great Technology Vision. They have a great experience and understanding of the security market.

    Cons

    The culture is really hard to deal with for new employees, especially with "traditional corporation" cultural background.

    No advice.

    Pros

    -Good people. -Good benefits. -Good product. -Open door policy. -Emphasis on educating employees. -Diverse clientele, and an opportunity to get hands on with compliance based sales.

    Cons

    -Office has inter-politics which get in the way of business. -It's a sales job, so missing a number in a quarter will get you out the door the following. -Management seems out of touch with the product and target market demographic. -Inter office communication is poor. -Not much interest in inter-office communication.

    Advice to Management

    Try to get in touch with your demographic; it's great to have leadership, it's better to have thoughtful leadership that's not interested in checking a box on your job description.
