- Morale is low because of recent massive layoffs (there have been four since I started less than six months ago)
- My admin overlords are telling me they would be surprised if they were still working there by this summer. This does not bode well for my position.
- Managers are so overloaded that they can barely care for their team, but they try the best they can
- Layoffs make opportunity for advancements next to impossible
- Management does play favorites, but I think you'll find that everywhere
- You will be underpaid for your efforts
Advice to Senior Management
There are plenty of alternatives to laying people off to cut costs. You can start by saving postage via not sending me (and everyone else) a letter every time we change our passwords on the benefits page. Happy employees are productive employees.
Pros
The work is fast paced with constant contact with customers. The teams are supportive and dedicated to producing quality work. The atmosphere is fun and recognition is provided at the peer level.
Cons
Failure to adequately staff to support a good work life balance. Not willing to provide overtime but want the work out in time. Never feeling secure due to constant reductions in staff.
Advice to Senior Management
Look closely at the VP level of decision making.
Pros
Hard work goes a long way. Be smart, professional and work hard. Show an eagerness to learn & take on more responsibility and you will be rewarded with opportunities for advancement and salary increases.
Cons
Salaries are not as competitive as some other companies in similar industries (banking or technology). It is a large company, so policies and red tape can be straining or may prolongue change.

Cutting back on staff can save the company money and help the bottom lime in the short run. But claims, losses and company morale will certainly add up.

My fellow co-workers and immediate managers have made this a great company to work for. Despite obstacles presented to us, we, as a team have been able to exceed customer expectations time and time again. Middle management support has been astounding given the resources and corporate culture in which we work. I've always experienced a "can-do" attitude from the CoreLogic team of employees and will cherish that for years to come.
Cons
It seems that upper management acts only in the best interest of the external customer and many times solely based on immediate cap-ex costs while ignoring the internal customer. In doing this, they have foregone internal employee recommendations or industry standard best-practices on many occasions based on cost alone. Although cost should be a driving factor in business decisions, it seems that not all benefits, either realized or unrealized immediately, are weighed appropriately when making business decisions. This lack of analyzing what an up front capital expenditure may save in soft dollars or future employee requisition requirements, in the long run has made it a difficult place to work when considering best-in-class products and solutions. Another pitfall has been the seemingly silo-ed work environment. It is sometimes difficult to get things accomplished with efficiency because of the numerous duplicate roles spread out across multiple internal departments. Streamlining these redundancies is now a key focus at the company, but unfortunately this has needed attention for too long and i fear has cost the company more than just financial losses.
Advice to Senior Management
Listen to your employees. They know the business and they know the job that needs to be done. Give more consideration to their knowledge and expertise. Break down the barriers hindering communication and be forthright with them. The key job to upper management is to involve your team in the decision making process and be the final decision maker after weighing all possibilities. Your employees want a fulfilling career and work environment and including them will greatly increase their productivity and morale. Find out what is hindering them from delivering the best-in-class product or service and resolve that. Make it easier for them to do their jobs more efficiently while knowing that they have been heard and progress is being made at the upper management decision-making level.

Very good in regards to benefits and time off when needed and each five years of work, you are eligible for more time off. Managers are very good comunicating with all employees.

We are moving from our location, but we are in limbo due to needing to find a new location.

Many great people to work with; however senior management is severly out of touch. If you can weather the storm opportunities are likely to emerge.

Business is tied to the mortgage industry and thereby in a state of flux. Competitors seem to be getting foothold where they hadn't previously.

The current management team is great to work for and with. They understand that people need to balance work and life. They expect you to work hard while on the clock but understand that life happens and things come up.
The atmosphere is laid back and a fun place to work. 2 years ago that could not be said due to a constant change in leadership, which has since been corrected and is stable and being led by trustworthy directors.
Cons
Promotions are few and far between. Lately a lot of temporary employees are being hired instead of permanent employees. While a job is a job, it would be nice to see people hired on permanently.

Hire full time employees to ensure we are getting the best of the best. Create more advancement possibilities within the company

Workers are expendable. The Data is not always correct and too much time is spent trying to correct or solve issues for a client.

The pay is good. That's about all I can say. I can pay my bills.

Worst communicating company I've ever worked for. Poorest employee training I've seen. Many employees have no concept of cooperation and teamwork. Nothing is communicated and then they treat you like an idiot for not knowing something that nobody bothered to communicate to you. They expect you to be tethered to the company by mobile phone 24/7. I don't really want to hear my manager's voice at 12am. I don't.
Processes are broken. Period. There are too many points of failure in SDLC at CoreLogic. Too much manual intervention is needed to get anything done. You've got people standing at virtual conveyor belts waiting for assignments to come down the line. And yet, to get anything accomplished, you still have to send an email telling someone to do something. You find yourself wondering all the time, "Is anyone working in that department?"
Managers are often incompetent. One manager in particular at this location is simply dead weight. He possesses no qualifications to work in a technology company and possesses no managerial skills. He never communicates critical information to employees in his department and has systematically and deliberately shipped local jobs offshore.
Advice to Senior Management
Clean house. Get rid of managers who are dead weight collecting salaries for nothing. Fix the broken processes. Improve communication and training.
