San Jose, CA

Former Employee – worked at CoreSite full-time for more than 3 years

ProsLoved working there while it was CRG West. Had great Managers including the SVP of Technology and Director of Operations. Great People on the Site level.

ConsWorking for a Sub company of Carlyle Realty Group can sometimes means that you are always left guessing on the next move of the company.

Advice to Senior Managementkeep you employees more informed of huge changes that can cause massive layoffs.

Yes, I would recommend this company to a friend

Los Angeles, CA

Current Employee – been working at CoreSite full-time for less than a year

ProsGreat company with a good benefit package. With full health and dental, plus PTO all start at the start of hire.

ConsHorrible nanagament starting with the western regional manager of security. Has poor management and communciation skills. Gives too much favoritism, lacks judgement on good workers and needs to improve on employee relations skills.

Supervisor, likes to start problems, brings moral down, is too protected by the Corperate Director of CoreSite Security. He's no nothing, expect allot, and needs to understand his workers.

Let alone the rediculous favortism that goes on, at the 900 Alameda, where certain people get the weekends off, certain easy post, where no hard done, but they get recognized for doing excellent work, while they cover themselves, by making everyone else look bad.

Can't even take day off, they are always denied. What's the point of having benefit, if you can't even use it? That's the senior management for you.

Advice to Senior ManagementFire the Western Regional Security Manager, just becuase he was a cop and sold insurance, doesn't qualify him to be a Manager, wih his poor skills of communication and taking care of employees, and lack of leadership. Find someone with great experience in Security in a corperate level, and knows how to operate and work with their employees, to find a common goal.

As for the supervisor not much worst thant the regional manager, but never hire your friends to work at your company or work for you. As you can see since that individual took that position, all he started was division, conflict within other employees and departments, and poor morale. In which it could lead to potential liababilty. And that all reflects on you the Corperate Security Director!

No, I would not recommend this company to a friend – I'm not optimistic about the outlook for this company

Current Employee – been working at CoreSite

ProsGenerally good people, good benefits, and a modest concern for the welfare of each employee, actually trying to come up with positive things to say is difficult.

Cons- Executive team listens to the wrong people
- Data centers are mostly refurbished/retrofitted buildings that should not be a data center in first place
- Executive team is some of the most arrogant people I have had the opportunity to associate with
- Unwritten policy to hire competitors, to include their most recent hire from Equinix to fill the COO position. A strategy to compensate for the lack of ability on the Executive Team to include the CEO
- This idea that a company with 12 data centers can compete with a company like Equinix which has 90. It is part of the arrogance of the executive team.
- Overall client portfolio does not produce the majority of the revenue, once the few larger deals term out this churn will make it difficult for the sales team to replace

Advice to Senior ManagementNone they wouldn't listen anyway...

No, I would not recommend this company to a friend – I'm not optimistic about the outlook for this company
