I have been working at Corinthian Colleges full-time (more than 5 years)

    Pros

Good work/home balance, decent benefits and wonderful co-workers. I actually enjoyed working for my bosses and for the company overall, which is why I stayed so long.

    Cons

Favoritism rampant, no salary increases, skeleton crew. Company is trying to sell its business units with no luck. Company greed killed the business.

    I worked at Corinthian Colleges

    Pros

    The pay is pretty decent

    Cons

They trick innocent victims into shelling out LOTS of money for a lousy (fake almost) education where they have a VERY low chance of acquiring a career. Sell them the American Dream that they have no chance of obtaining. Use government funded loans to fill the rest.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

They don't want advice. They are laughing their way to the bank.

    Pros

Great people to work with at this location. Everyone here is hoping that new ownership will "change some things".

    Cons

Silly paperwork, questionable management ethics with a proprietary school.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Look at the long term, go for quality over quantity and have some admissions standards rather than running admissions like a used car sales lot. Hopefully the new ownership will clean house in upper management and get in leadership that cares about the quality of the brand. Speaking of that, the brand name definitely needs to be changed, this one is pretty damaged.

I worked at Corinthian Colleges full-time (more than 5 years)

    Pros

When the right people were in place, it ran steadily well. Most of the people working there were there because they genuinely wanted to help students.

    Cons

Realizing that charging so much for a degree really isn't necessary, and having to deal with all the bad press and negative publicity surrounding the complaints. The right people were never in place long enough to help make a real difference.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

If nothing seems to be going right or getting better, maybe it's time to start cleaning house from the top down, instead of vice-versa.

I have been working at Corinthian Colleges full-time (more than 5 years)

    Pros

Lots of ability to grow and advance as long as you are willing to put in the work. Offer comprehensive health benefits and lots of other benefit options. Dedication to integrity and excellence from the CEO's to the campus employees. The ability to help a person change their lives through the gift of education is the reason I have stayed with them for so long. Campus level management is fun, creative, adept, hardworking, and still believes in our mission statement.

    Cons

I veha watched this company decline over the last 5 years; used to be employee focused and truly care about their people while always doing the right thing by the student. Since the financial crisis and economic decline they have stripped my employees of their morale, decreased contributions to their benefits and 401k, downsized numerous times, stopped communicating with the people at the campuses and then get angry at management for not hitting budgets. We are in the process of being bought out which would be the best thing for the people at this point. There is no faith in the CEO and upper management.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

You lost your way and are now desperately trying to line your pockets with money as you scramble to sell the schools. At some point profit became more important than the student's lives that we help change by giving them access to an education that can allow this demographic to positively impact the lives of their families and communities. When you lost that, you lost your people.
