    Sometimes exhausting but rewarding

    Anonymous Employee (Current Employee)

ProsLaid back environment. Most people are very nice and easy to get along with. My boss is very relaxed and understanding and will do his best to take as much stress away from us as he can. Good benefits.

ConsLack of diversity. I work in a science lab and most of my coworkers are old white men. Pay is decent enough, but apartments in Ithaca are very expensive.

    GTRA Grad Student

    Graduate Research Assistant (Former Employee)

ProsIt's a beautiful campus, it was part-time and flexible hours for me. The stipend was great, and gave me an opportunity to work within my field of study with a great professor.

ConsSometimes the professor was not clear with instructions on my duties or changed his mind when the work was very developed and far ahead. Or he was hard to get ahold of.

    Nice University, great tiny city

    Graduate Research/Teaching Assistant (Current Employee)
    Ithaca, NY

ProsIthaca is a cute mini city and Cornell is really a nice place to work. They pay grad students well. Personally, I find the work-life balance great and I love it there. Hard working but not high stress. Good culture

ConsIt is hard for spouses to find jobs here though, there is not a lot of work in Ithaca unless you are in a really high-demand career like programming or IT.
