I worked at Corning Cable Systems full-time for more than a year

    Pros

The Pay and Benefits are excellent and the professionalism of the people. Having multiple locations makes work interesting in meeting new people.

    Cons

Large bureaucracy and size of organization make significant contributions a very lengthy process. The organization had (3) significant restructuring events during my 1.75 yrs there.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Create and follow a long term plan. Long term plans that change every few months have no chance of benefitting.

I have been working at Corning Cable Systems full-time for more than 5 years

    Pros

Great salary and benefits. Great employees who seem like family. Flexible work schedule (to a point). Up to date software to create quality work.

    Cons

No room for advancement. No creative workspace. Quality work is stifled by assembly line type of projects and too many fast tracks. Bickering with customers.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Take some pointers from other creative agencies if you want to establish one yourself.

    Cons

There was very little negative about working at Corning Cables Systems except for the latest massive reorganization which was somewhat about the reasoning for it.

I have been working at Corning Cable Systems full-time for more than 5 years

    Pros

Flexible hours and people. The people that I worked with were great to be around and helpful when problems arose. The benefits are as good or better than any other employer I've had. They have great resources for improving yourself and investing in your career.

    Cons

While I was there, there were 3 re-organizations and 2 re-structurings. These changes had a very negative affect on the moral and reduced productivity. Upper management struggled with the direction of the technology section and good people started to leave the organization.
