Upper management been there too long, feedback not always honest to all people, new ideas a listened to but not acted on.
Advice to Senior Management
Many employees hate it when upper management brags about "how long they've been at CEB". It makes everyone think that tenure is of utmost importance, which it is not. It also gives the appearance that upper management wants to remain separate from the rest of the emplolyee body.
Pros
Strategic research topics are fun, new
Generally talented people
great c-suite access
unparalleled career upside
Cons
vague research process hard to manage as a production environment
stalled strategic vision
silos
Advice to Senior Management
running too thin on research side/trying to get people to do too much. better prioritization. say no sometimes.
Pros
-Conveniently located, affordable living area
Cons
- Employees are underpaid- CEB does not allow for negotiation
- Management highly unorganized
- "Fluff" work
Pros
* Some smart people; some very smart people
* Generally good product; intellectual sale
* Good process and sales tactics training
* Seems to have matured
Cons
* Can be VERY political
* Used to be very "rah-rah"
* Still trying to work itself out of the current 2009/10/11 economic situation
Advice to Senior Management
* Continue investing in people and preventing non-regretted attrition
* Continue investing in relevant product
* Find ways to embed yourself into client workflow and work processes
Pros
There ia a lot of room for advancement and you can get promoted fairly quickly. It just depends on your manager. There are a lot of bad managers so if you get stuck with one of them then there is NO hope.
Cons
Inexperienced managers who used to be researchers.
Advice to Senior Management
Train managers
Pros
entrepreneurial, steep learning curve, meritocracy
Cons
managers inexperienced and not great at professional development, internal politics exist, hours can be long depending on which part of the company you're in, advancement based upon how well your manager pitches for you
