Pros
Good benefits, good salary, decent work environment. Very good about balancing work and family, and are generous with vacation, holiday and sick time. Also have short term and long term disability paid for by the company. Good reimbursement policy and are pretty good about helping you move your career forward if that is what you are wanting. Pretty flexible in work hours for salaried employees. The poeple are good to work with and like to have fun, as does upper management, they like to party when its time to party and work when its time to work!!
Cons
High turn-over, high stress, always rumors about a takeover
Advice to Senior Management
Put rumors to bed sooner rather than later.
Pros
They have good Benefits, fair salary.
Cons
Job Postings are done as an afterthought in a lot of cases. Most times - management already has someone in mind or alreday picked out for a job. I think there's been favoritism shown towards certain employees as well...in a time when the company is going through major changes...some people STILL have a job - and you just wonder how that happened?
Advice to Senior Management
Pay more attention to the "little" people, be more concerned about the morale.
Pros
Depending on your position at CE, the compensation is good to above average. The benefits are in line with similar sized companies. For example, CE has the highest sales commission pay-out in the industry and senior management pay is higher than average.
Cons
Very little room for upward mobility. Senior management recruits from outside the company to fill 90% of managerial positions which has negatively impacted the company's ability to create and establish a sound culture.
Advice to Senior Management
There is no effective succession planning strategy at Corporate Express, USA and it is a glaring failure on Senior Management's behalf.
Pros
It used to be a good company until Staples purchased it. CE looked out for its employees. Staples doesn't. CE cared about people - Staples doesnt
Cons
It is now owned by Staples. They don't treat employees very nice. The employees are just numbers - not people.
Advice to Senior Management
get out while you can. Staples not told the truth to the CE employees.
Pros
Great company to work for. They treat everyone well. CEXP has been twice recoginzed as a top 50 employer. Management works with you to creat a well balanced work/home life. Open door policy, management always very helpfull. Upper management does listen to people's concerns. Same with HR. When told that employee's felt benefits could be better, they changed the options available to us. Not quite there yet...but moving in the right direction.
Cons
Not a lot of turn over. CEXP is such a good employer that people rarely leave. Find yourself waiting for new opportunites to open up. Benefit packages could be a little more competitive, more inline with other large companies. To CEXP Canada's defence, major changes in the benefits packages have been made.
Advice to Senior Management
Good job so far :)
