Pros
Family environment
fast paced work from warehouse to office
community involved
customer centered at first
employee activities and input were taken seriously
Cons
By end of term, did not like how money was the key to work goals and not customer service or satisfaction. Sending wrong product to customers on purpose and making their ability to return product a challenge so that they would keep and our sales would go up. Very dishonest.
Advice to Senior Management
Remember what it once was; customers being happy made it so that they ordered more. When customers are happy, employees are happier, which in turn, makes emploer happier. Return to basics.
Pros
good employees, good location, good work environment
Cons
managment only promotes those who they are friends with
Pros
Mobility, good opportunities for women/equality in the work place, open door management style, open to new, outside the box thinking. Their corporate office was very impressive in terms of innovation, style, cutting edge look and feel. Fresh thinking and innovative "perception" throughout the organization
Cons
Top heavy management structure was still in force when I worked for them. Not as fresh thinking and innovative as they would have you believe... it was a great company when the founder was at the helm. Not so much after he turned over the reins to others -
Advice to Senior Management
Treat your people well, fairly and equitably and the company will be rewarded 10 fold!
Pros
the close proximity to my home
Cons
dealing with upper mgmt and incompetent staff
Advice to Senior Management
realise that your employees make up the business, not you!
Pros
Nice people. Good work environment with a strong team mindset. The workers were very dedicated and hard working. Good balance of work and fun in a small office feeling.
Cons
Middle and senior management seemed mostly lost.
Lots of promises for future growth, none was ever delivered.
High pressure to meet customer demands with little regard to the resources required. So, everyone got overworked quickly.
Advice to Senior Management
I think the buyout was a good thing overall. Hopefully the Staples management understands how to run a balanced company better.
Pros
Out in field not in office - great group of people in local office
Cons
senior mamagement and customer service call center
Advice to Senior Management
too many changes too quickly - more customer service
Pros
Interesting work and invest in its employees
Cons
Senior Management not very focused on long-term results
Advice to Senior Management
Choose direction and stick with it!
Pros
Beautiful Location.
Access to office supplies.
Great shopping and golfing within walking distance!
Wonderful Cafeteria!
Convenient Parking.
Excellent Security Personel.
An excess of weekend warriors.
Cons
Overall, one of the most bizarre and inexplicable places I've ever worked. Staff commonly degrades company brand. Much of management has little or no real experience.
Advice to Senior Management
Allow Staples to get rid of the dead wood.
