I worked at Costco Wholesale part-time (more than 3 years)

    Pros

As a part time employee, you have the opportunity to earn your hours by proving your worth investing into. i was always asked to work for other departments or extra hours. Which i didnt mind, however i didnt like the fact that no Overtime was allowed. The benefits pay 80/20 as part time employee which is good in this day and age. Prescriptions are filled at the Costco pharmacy and only cost employees $3.

    Cons

Politics!! I cant stress it enough. Management teams are very biased towards certain employees whether they work hard and put in extra effort or not. It wasnt until my last 6 months of working there that i was "disliked" for lack of better terms. If a new job was posted the management teams already had who they wanted picked and only interviewed you due to policy.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Look back to when you were a grunt like your employees.
i had a manager in another department always say "thank God for the worker bees" and "you have to lead from the front" if more of costco wholesale managers did this i think it would be the best company out there to work for.

I have been working at Costco Wholesale full-time (more than 5 years)

    Pros

Great benefits, excellent wages, time goes by really fast. Started working for costco when I was 18 now I'm 23 making 60k a year. If you don't mind working hard for good money this is the place for you.

    Cons

People who has been with the company longer than others gets priority even if they are a terrible employee. Sometimes they will take someone who has been with the company for 10 years rather than take a employee who works really hard but only been with the company for 3 years.. Which is why some of the mangers in the company are no good.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

I just think all managers should be getting a bonus twice a year, just as the hourly employees do. Other than that.. Thank you!
