Pros
Good starting salary for part time work. Easy to schedule around your full time job, if you have one in the Obama area.
Cons
Managerial incompetence abound. Too many supervisors and not enough knowledge to go around. Seems they are stuck on auto pilot since raises are given based on time worked not quality work.
Advice to Senior Management
Know more about the company. If you are asked a question you darn well better know the answer especially when it comes to policies and procedures.
Pros
Excellent benefits for yourself and your family. Less than $100 for full coverage including yourself and a dependent.
Cons
Senior mgmt doesn't think things through before delegating, excellent end results but significant amounts of extra work prior to end result. A ton of employees with tenure who are lazy and are almost impossible to get rid of. Quarterly statements always showed Costco with higher earnings yet in store that resulted somehow in tighter payroll.
Advice to Senior Management
Kick out the bad seeds and those that just don't care anymore. Reward those that work hard and want to advance.
Pros
friendly staff and great pay
Cons
long hours and strenuous work load
Pros
I didnt have to go to college to get to where I am, I learned everything from within. I may only make $48,000 a year now but it is guaranteed that i can make 60-70 if i work hard and stay away from the cliques and just aim to please
Cons
Working with a lot of know it all's who just gave up learning is hard to work with.
Advice to Senior Management
Don't forget where you started, most managers did start at the bottom and should never forget it and times have changed since you held our positions and it's probably harder now with how much busier it has gotten over the years
Pros
Advancement opportunities over a wide range of jobs available. pay and benefits, never bored. Fair to employees as well as to vendors and manufactures.
Cons
High Stress, sometimes a demanding work schedule.
Advice to Senior Management
a more concrete management training schedule
Pros
Best pay and best company
Cons
it is retail, tough job
Advice to Senior Management
none
Pros
Great pay, fellow assistants for the most part are very friendly and helpful, all cashiers have done front end work and they completely know what you're going through so most of them will give you advice or help you more than they have to, free membership
Cons
Only four hours of training, a lot of learning on the job so you never know if you're doing things the right way until the employee review, extremely fast work environment and lifting those bulk items for four hours is not easy! Some managers and cashiers seemed to have forgotten how physically demanding the job is and will berate you or glare at you in front of customers.
Advice to Senior Management
Remember what it was like working the least respected job in the warehouse. Everyone has been through it and management needs to respect assistants more. Give more training to new employees. Four hours is not enough to learn everything there needs to work efficiently. For example, teach new assistants how to repack a basket. It is overwhelming and teaching assistants how instead of expecting them to learn instantly will make things easier.
Pros
Good pay, good people, great benefits, good promotability
Cons
Takes a lot longer to top out with new employee agreements
Pros
Ease of work and ability to increase pay with less time than other companies. Growth in company is increasing and has a steady stock status.
Cons
Management can be a little difficult to work with when trying to move up, more hurdles to jump through than expected.
Advice to Senior Management
Do more by the book and not by personal interests or emotional thoughts. Treat employees fairly and don't push false promises.
Pros
-Pays well
-Interaction with many customers
-Great Benefits
-Flexible Hours
-Coworkers are easy to work with
-Work around your school schedule
Cons
-Always rushing
-Lots of "janitor type work"
-Food service can be more stressful than Front end
Advice to Senior Management
I believe the management is doing an excellent job, however there have been some stragglers slowing down the whole process and they're cancerous to the whole store.
