    Pros

Promotions, salary, dressing casually, employees are all friends.

    Cons

Management expects you to work over full time and for up to 14 days in a row (that happened to me only once). And you can't ever ask for a weekend off.

    Advice to Management

I think it is important to treat every employee with respect. I believe the company as a whole does this, but management in the individual stores does not. I have worked at Costco for 3 summers and every summer I work until 10 PM, over full time, no days off, and NEVER a Saturday off - even when requested. I don't get any time with my family.

    Pros

Was a 20 year employee but the past 1-2 years have had some subtle changes since new CEO took over. Decent pay, great benefits 401k, vision, ect.

    Cons

Only way for promotion is if you're a "yes" person or part of the "inner circle". watch out for flying daggers because its pretty cut throat.

    Advice to Management

Get more organization. Half the time the left hand doesn't know what the right hand is doing. stop throwing daggers at each other!!!

    Good supervisors

    Cons

A good portion of the managers at this store are bullies.
    Lead by intimidation.
    Very discouraging.
A lot of favoritism happens when trying to move up or to a different department.

    Pros

The pay at costco was great! The good thing about costco is that when you're hired, even if you're part time they'll give you a lot of hours

    Cons

At the time of my employment I was a full time college student only wanting Costco for a part time job. 25 hours is what I was expecting but they had me working 37-39 hours (preventing me from full time benefits) and caused me to struggle in school. I asked them to cut my hours and they just continued to work me almost a full time job every week.

    Advice to Management

My advice to management would for them to understand that college students main job is school and if you run them to the ground with hours they'll be stuck at Costco for their life.

    Pros

Higher starting pay, benefits for part time, promote from within

    Cons

Raises are based on length of employment, so older employees get paid more but don't work as hard, full time positions are hard to come by, so everyone puts in for them, lots of job competition

    Pros

The people are great and its a fun place to work. They do some great work for their employees and the pay is great.

    Cons

It is tough to make everyone happy. You have to learn who is important and how to make everything work even when it seems impossible. You also need to learn how to deal with multiple people at a time.

    Advice to Management

The management needs to understand that some things are just not doable. Sometimes you have to remember how it was when you were there.

  10. my experience here was okay, definitely a learning experience, and I wish to seek a more challenging company

    Pros

Perks are that you can eat samples and the people are great. The People make the experience most Costco employee are generous and friendly.

    Cons

The job can get redundant quick depending on waht you are working on.

    Advice to Management

I wished the General Manager would make an effort in his busy schedule to talk to all the employees more often. Or pop up during closing and casually speak with the employees.
