Advice to Senior Management
I believe the management is doing an excellent job, however there have been some stragglers slowing down the whole process and they're cancerous to the whole store.
Pros
easy job, get along with most, and i get good days off. benefits are good. i would consider management more i they got two days off in a row
Cons
customer service job so we have to work with the general public. the union we HAVE to work under is horrible and only keeps poor employees working.
Advice to Senior Management
look for people how can do and are knowledgeable at their jobs for people to promote, instead of people who can play the game best and say yes to everything.
Pros
decent pay if you stay long enough.
Cons
Management is hit and miss; favoritism is not based on performance, but on either seniority or "being one of them" whatever the hell that really means.
Advice to Senior Management
don't just throw new employees into a job without decent training; you may not care, but apparently it pisses of the other "soldiers" that have to work with a newbie. Costco uses the seniority system--uh, yeah, we get it...but mgmt can really turn blind eye to some childish behavior displayed by those with seniority. it's a disgrace.
Pros
Benefits and pay are great, can't beat them in the industry
Cons
Management is not always communicating with each other, policy depends on who is working that day.
Advice to Senior Management
To have the same policy regardless of who is on duty that day. Everyone should be by the book.
Pros
few more money than other retail store. Its great place to learn some tricks of the trade.
Cons
Dealing with bunch of cowboys in management. YOu have to listen and follow up the stupid light headed supervisors and managers. Be ready to get criticized and sarcastic behaviour from your lovely boss. If you see deeply costco is also same as other place where they only talk about equality but in reality costco management knows its best how to treat somebody badly and they do it very carefully and legally. ha ha ha . For me personelly 90 percent of mangement cowboys need some kind of training. god save costco.
Advice to Senior Management
Respect all the employees regardless of his/her position , gender, race. Distribute the work load equally to everyone . I have seen many cases where some employee hanging around all day and some are pressured to work more than their capacity. Take care of employee in practical. Even though i know costco is buiseness and for money only.
Pros
The pay is good. the starting pay is 11 dollars. You can move up in the company if you work toward it. You can sign postings to go into different departments. You have most of the holidays off with pay. You could ask for tranfers to other stores in other states. Some Costcos are union which can help when you get into some trouble.
Cons
most of the time you feel over worked and you don,t get praised for working your butt off. Most managers are not nice and always find whats wrong. Treats you like your always wrong when it comes to the members. Even when we get verbally abused by the member.
Advice to Senior Management
Don't act your better then everyone who works for you. Your not a god or a king. You are a person just like your employees. We have families and a life outside of Costco.
