Advice to Senior Management
Don't keep crappy employees but reward the ones that work hard and have given the years of service instead of rewarding all newer employees because their time will come too
listen to your staff
it's not fair that the poor management of buildings reflect the hard work of our CEO
Pros
I took a summer job while in university, which worked out well because Costco hires lots of temp workers during the summer - if you work 3 months or less they don't have to give benefits. Pay is better than minimum wage, which is great. I was told the benefits were good for long-term employees.
Cons
The people I worked with were nice, but my boss was very odd, and lacking in people skills. When customers asked for help finding sizes, I got in trouble for helping them - customer service was NOT important to him, working as quickly as possible was. I've always been a very hard worker but spending 8 hours hunched over folding clothes is surprisingly hard on your back. I started as his favourite employee, but he changed his mind after I helped a couple customers. He also literally knocked customers over as he walked through the store as quickly as possible, and never seemed to notice. He was dedicated to the company, even coming in on his days off. Strange person to work for, I definitely did not return the next summer!
Advice to Senior Management
Screen your managers a little better! Maybe teach customer service skills - time is money, sure, but you can be helpful AND efficient.
Pros
adequate pay, job security, alot of room for advancement ,friendly place to work. awesome because all uppper positions are only given to people within the company. regular opportunities for advancement. very sympathetic to the needs of personal life regarding time off.
Cons
management not always listening to employees, company oriented management
Advice to Senior Management
Listen to the feedback of both middle management as well as lower level employees
