    Pros

Competitive salary, great learning experience, great coworkers

    Cons

Unique upper management style, no team mentality, segregated departments, limited advancement. Mislead growth. Slowly growing

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Value employees, don't put their livelihood on the line. During snow storms CEO expected all employees to put their job ahead of their safety.

I have been working at Cottonwood Financial

    Pros

Opportunities for advancement if you act like a robot and don't steer away from their black and white

    Cons

No stbility, their way is the "best way" no matter what market, poorly managed operations department,Work each day wondering if it is your last. Work like balance is a joke, if you aren't a workaholic then say goodbye. The Operations department and field employees have a high turnover rate. Other departments seem to be much better. Overall the company is a shady industry that takes advantage of people. Not a reputable place to work.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Stop being so fake, and less robotic, allow creativity and be open to new ideas

I have been working at Cottonwood Financial full-time (more than 5 years)

    Pros

Great pay, benefits, and training. Supportive management staff. This job has given me the tools to greatly improve my current financial situation, as well as prepare me for future employment. I've learned so much about the ins and outs of running a business. The company is always striving to improve the employee and customer experience.

    Cons

Different departments don't always work well together, which can be extremely frustrating when attempting to resolve an issue. The pay day loan industry is generally frowned upon, so you do get judged when people find out where you work.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Continue to develop the employee and customer experience. You've made huge strides in these areas, continue on that path!

    Cons

Staffing can be an issue, but customers and co-workers make it easier to deal with.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

I worked at Cottonwood Financial full-time (less than an year)

    Pros

Only pro is the pay. They pay their employees very well but they should since they charge consumers 525% interest!

    Cons

Horrible personalities in the operations department, boring work environment, environment can get hectic at times. Employees are are a clique. If you're not in their inner circle, good luck.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Treat others you want to be treated. Just because you're management, doesn't give you the right to be disrespectful to others. Also find a solution for the consumers, "I can't do anything for you" is not the way to assist customers especially if those customers will just call back and complain on the person assisting them.

I worked at Cottonwood Financial full-time (more than 5 years)

    Pros

    The salary is competitive
The size of the company is small enough that there is not a lot of red tape to have to cut thru to get so etching done

    Cons

-The culture of this place is terrible. If you are expected Xmas parties and sense of belonging this has nothing of the sort
-The dress code is strict with no casual days at all
    - management has little to know interest in developing
-Missing work for any reason is looked down upon greatly. (There were times when the roads were unsafe due to ice and you were experienced to be at work bright and early
-If you are taking a travel position keep in mind you will not be traveling you will be expected to stay for weeks at a time in some cases including weekends
-most of the staff live in fear of losing there job daily I must have seen 40 or 50 people fired in my time at this company.
    - the insurance here is extremely expensive and not very good.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Work on developing your employees which will result in better retaining your staff rather than having the revolving door policy you currently have in place.

Great place to work if you get a good supervisor

    I worked at Cottonwood Financial

    Pros

The pay is much higher than competition and management is very lenient about meeting goals. They are also good about letting part timers work extra hours when staffing levels permit.

    Cons

The supervisor played favorites and didn't follow the rules that everyone else was to abide by. There is a lot of drama and politics with one supervisor in particular who likes to talk about their employees to other employees. This supervisor is truly unprofessional and doesn't deserve to be in a supervisory role.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Look at the people that you promote to supervisors more closely. Many hard working good employees were lost due to the lack of supervisory skills that were exhibited by certain supervisors.

I have been working at Cottonwood Financial full-time

    Pros

This is a profitable, stable, growing company. They offer above market pay, have a good training program, and a history of promoting high achievers. A lot of the management team started out in different positions and were promoted into their present positions. That is what attracted me to the company. They are very policy and procedure oriented, but are also open to new ideas.

    Cons

Medical benefits are a little pricey.
