Pros
Higher compensation. More seasoned Attorneys. Collegial attmosphere.
Cons
Only experienced one exception to the above.
Pros
Flexibility is the biggest advantage. COC also pays better for document review than similar firms, and I understand COC attorneys are more accurate reviewers.
Cons
Due to nature of contract work, you are essentially treated like a booty call-very little to no notice that projects are starting or ending, and everything is on their terms with no room for negotiation. No room to advance. Too few substantive projects--just a doc review factory at this point.
Pros
If you're new to an area with no contacts and need income, a good way to get in the door
Cons
As a contract attorney, it feels like you're a second class attorney
