    Pros

People there are mostly really nice and some will go out of their way to show you where to go. Most offices that need a temp don't require a person to do much for the time they are working there.
    The pay is excellent.

    Cons

Most offices that need a Temp don't require that person to work much for the time that they positioned there. Unfortunately, I like to actually participate while there.
Most positions are just a day or two at a time.

    Advice to Management

Have something for your TEMPS to do, besides answering the phone(s). The day is usually long and it can be rather boring just sitting there doing nothing between calls.

    Pros

It's a great work environment, everyone is really nice. It's the most flexible part time job you will ever have and the pay is higher than most part time jobs. If you get rotated as an intern that's definitely a plus because you learn about different departments and obtain experience using difference programs (i.e., Microsoft Access, Publisher, Visio, etc). Also if you're looking to get a CPA this is one of the best places to do it.

    Cons

The job isn't always going to be interesting. It can get repetitive and maybe a little dull, but you can get out of it what you put in. If you look at everything with a positive attitude you can wait it out until you get the opportunity to help with various projects to even out the repetitive work.

    Advice to Management

If you're open to interns asking questions it makes for a much more efficient use of time

    Pros

The job provides good salary, very good benefits, with very little actual responsibility. Work load expectations are high but there is no real correlation between hours posted and productivity.

    Cons

Completely inconsistent direction, low morale, limited training. The job provides no clear opportunity for advancement and great incentive to leave. Customers are always angry.

    Pros

Location is idyllic. People are friendly. Time off is good except in the beginning.

    Cons

Housing costs are prohibitive. Micromanaged and disorganized management. Unsure where leadership is headed. Would be nice if they knew the burnout they cause. High turnover rate.

    Advice to Management

Fire Dept heads and start over.

    Pros

Santa Barbara County gives the opportunity for growth to all of the employees. I earned a Masters in Public Administration while I was there. All of the employees I worked with were very supportive of each other.

    Cons

Due to the cost of living, many employees had to commute to work but there are great public transportation options.

    Advice to Management

Continue to increase the opportunities for staff growth.

    Pros

Good people, adequate training opportunities, might be a good place to start but the present situation does not lead to long term satisfaction

    Cons

County government - completely misguided in their direction which adversely affects the critical mission of the safety services

    Advice to Management

Invert the table of organization to show that the executive serves to support the deputy.
