    Pros

Good colleagues, lots of good people that left

    Cons

Industry is in decline, depressing culture, no advancement opportunities, lay-offs and down-sizing constantly, people constantly getting demoted and no career opportunities

    Advice to Management

Sorry to say management won't be around long because they too will get let go. It's Gannett's culture, burn and churn.

    Pros

The people ... but that's about it. It's a declining place and industry.

    Cons

Poor leadership, unrealistic goals set, if you made your goals to early, they would raise your goals. Hard to achieve success.

    Advice to Management

You have a high turnover rate for a reason.

    Pros

It is not hard to find the building downtown.
It's not too far from Bardstown Road, a popular street in Louisville.

    Cons

Parking is too far away from the building.
    Management is spineless.
The work load is pathetic -- not enough to do.
    No room for advancement.

    Advice to Management

Stand up for your employees. Don't just follow Gannett blindly.

    Pros

The only good that came out of working here is I get to use the Courier name on my resume.

    Cons

Management=Gannett's puppets. They have no brain for themselves. During the interview process they will lie and tell you the company is doing great and the incentives will just roll in. There is no formal training on your position and they will literally throw you into your position and expect you to come out swimming. If you drown, then they will either demote you or let you go without any warnings. The in-house HR team is useless. Even the simplest questions they will refer you to the corporate phone number. I really could go on and on but I will save them a little bit of face.

    Advice to Management

Be honest to your staff. Listen to your employees, instead of micro-managing.

    Pros

    its a paycheck.
offices are downtown and located near restaurants, bars & entertainment.
    they have elevators

    Cons

    all the corp bs.
constant change- not because the company is innovated and forward thinking but because the company is constantly chasing it's tail.
Gannett is a very REACTIVE company vs a PROACTIVE company. They will eventually go under if they continue on the same path they are currently on.

    Advice to Management

    find a new job
