    Pros

Strong team committed to customer success. Provide opportunities to learn about security across many industries. Some opportunity to do so both domestically and internationally.

    Cons

Company's commitment to building a stable, enterprise worthy solution is questionable. Leaves the professional services and support team make up for product challenges and deficiencies

    Advice to Management

Commit more resources to fully develop and maintain products

    Cons

they will lie to you and about you then "let you go". management has no clue and seemed to put the life of the company in RECENT college grads and need to be taught everything.

    Advice to Management

    Pros

The people (both old and new), the culture, the new management.

    Cons

Due to the acquisition, several people were upset & left the company. The new management is re-building and the onboarding is difficult. There is very little communication. Hoping with time they will become organized and the other new hires will have a better experience.

    Advice to Management

Communicate with the employees about what is going on, even if everything hasn't been settled. Consider quarterly Town Hall type meetings.

    Pros

WAS a great company, HAD good management...now not so much..

    Cons

new management makes the worst decisions. day one they fire people without thinking "Gee we actually need them" ( even told employees they decided who to let go without getting to know who they were or what they did). Then tried to get some back - once they realized they actually need the long standing employees. Offer bad retention (which totally backfired) name of the game is just money. Boston too expensive, lets go to GA. People looking to join ask these questions: 1.) Why are there basically no long term US employees? ( its a 18 year old company) 2.) Where is the product knowledge base? 3.) When they find a cheaper labor pool, how fast will they shut down GA and move to save a buck? 4.) What happens when they "flip" the company to new owners?

    Pros

Free Coffee and Soda. Knowing that people that used to work at the company. Bagel Wednesday.

    Cons

The New Management Untrustworthy Anyone that may be reading these reviews needs to be aware that the "New" owners of Courion have having marketing employees write false positive reviews. If you want a good career or you want to work with smart, trustworthy individuals; look elsewhere.

    Pros

Awesome culture and company prior to k1 acquisition. Lots of tenured people who know their stuff. Company was (past tense) very much focussed on customer success.

    Cons

Since the acquisition, lots and lots of cuts. Many who weren't cut are voluntarily leaving. They are trying to hire inexpensive (and inexperienced) people to make the company profitable. No severance package provided to terminated employees (read - zero).

    Advice to Management

Learn to lead and inspire your employees. Have a plan and communicate it to inspire confidence. Hold people accountable. Next time you terminate 1/3 of the company, give people a severance package. Don't expect amazingly talented people with "end dates" to stick around.

    Pros

There were great people working there before the acquisition by K1. It was much like a family. Westbrook location was convenient.

    Cons

K1 swooped I on Feb. 11 and decimated the company. Change was needed but the decisions being made and that continue to be made are not based in intelligence. K1 has a formula that is being followed and seem delighted to remove the heart and soul of Courion. Once they determined that many of the staff that were let go were critical contributors they begged them to come back and have not been able to convince anyone. Many people who were kept as permanent have left over the lack of trust and ethics of the new management. K1 is scrambling to keep Courion together. They think throwing money at staff will get them to stay but they have underestimated the employability of the team. New employees are being hired in Atlanta but there is not even an office set up there yet. The new staff will need figure everything out on their own.

    Advice to Management

None. It's too late to make a recovery on this transaction. K1 seems like a group of MBA grads who treat these acquisitions like textbook cases. Seasoned executives were needed to turn Courion around and the ones who were placed are failing miserably. There is much paranoia about when staff quit and the only reason people are leaving is because of the way K1 took over. It was way too hostile. Armed guards in our lobby for 3 days? That's not the way to do business.

    Pros

ZERO pros after K1 Capital tookover.

    Cons

K1 Capital had one on ones with the staff and either let them go on the spot or they received an "end date", can you say hostile takeover? Very foolish to let talented people go and then expect those who received end dates to be "happy" with the insulting retention bonus, duh? I feel bad for anyone new they hire in Atlanta, you have no idea what mess you just stepped into. They have stated clearly they only want younger and cheaper, guess they haven't figured out you get what you pay for!

    Advice to Management

You have no idea how to deal with people, you could have done the takeover in a much smarter (and humane) way, instead you made everyone want to run out the door as fast as they could. Not too smart to do a complete takeover with no transition plan in place. Guess what, no one who has an "end date" wants to meet their Atlanta replacements, that is completely insulting! wake up!

    Pros

Under this new management, there are no pros

    Cons

Current management is a total joke with no vision. Everything is done so secretively with ZERO openness - which is totally going against one of Courion's core values. No respect for employees. People are fleeing out of the door. Advice for job seekers - RUN
