Advice to Senior Management
Senior management needs to look out for employees more. The hospital is overstaffed in some departments and understaffed in others. In the understaffed departments, such as nursing units, employees are overworked. This reflects in patient safety and satisfaction.
Pros
Covenant is a good solid place to work in today's economy. The company does care about their employees for the most part.
Cons
The pay is on the low side of everyone else in the region. Long hours and revolving door staffing.
Pros
Competitive compensation
Flexible schedule
Co-workers are great
Cons
No feedback or yearly reviews to gauge how one is doing.
Little to no chance for involvement or advancement
Advice to Senior Management
Professional development and involvement of employees
Pros
excellent methods of communication for constantly striving to improve quality of care of our residents. Computer system of documentation makes communication notes neat and easily accessible.
Cons
Sometimes you might get overloaded with work and shall need to work with patients in groups but it is still exciting to think of new ideas and to be able to manage clients of different needs in an enjoyable, health promoting groups.
Advice to Senior Management
Certified nursing aides play an important role in patient care and they do influence the way our clients feel about our facilities. As per my experience, not all of them have the adequate amount of orientation to manage client's needs. Doing in-services with CNA explaining then the imp role they play in improving quality of care should be done on a time to time basis. This can not only accelerate the rehab progress but also can give our clients a feeling of confidence in our expertise and care and lovingness that they deserve when they choose our center for health care.
Pros
Positive work environment and room for advancement. The management seems to share information readily and the hospital as a whole is great at communication. Benefits are very good, especially for the region, and the hospital is family friendly. I am proud to work for this company and anyone who does not see its merits has not been around very much--compared to other companies I've worked for, Covenant is a wonderful employer!
Cons
The pay scale is lower than other hospitals in similar cities. That may be, in part, due to the other benefits given and because Covenant is not a huge conglomerate.
Advice to Senior Management
I love that we see upper management in the halls, not squirrled away in an ivory tower. They seem to be on top of every element of the facility.
