I worked at Coverity full-time (more than an year)

    Pros

The office has a great location, close to caltrain, busses and has great parking. Tuesday treats are a nice perk and yoga as well. Great place to check a box on your resume, not a great place to learn and grow. They also pay well!

    Cons

I learned so little at Coverity I feel that I am in a worse position for my career now that I was before. Management isn't aligned or motivated to continue growing. Some managers are outright inappropriate, on more than one occasion I considered going to HR to report the language I would hear.

    Pros

Smart and dedicated people who are committed to the products and solutions.

    Cons

Unclear on the EMEA vision or strategy - no clear leadership. Always battling with awareness issues of Coverity. Marketing need to create more awareness and generate real interest.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Take advantage of the smart people and listen more. Don't be afraid to change leadership to meet the demands of EMEA today.

  6.

Technically challenging and internally very engineering/technology driven, but focused too much on selling and revenue.

I have been working at Coverity full-time (more than 5 years)

    Pros

Leading technology, talented engineers, customers are other software developers. Advancement track for engineers/individual contributors is comparable to advancement track for managers.

    Cons

Relatively new top management is focused on IPO and outside of R&D and engineering less on technology. Sales driven goals put pressure on results more than process.

I worked at Coverity full-time (more than an year)

    Pros

Everyone at Coverity is really smart, motivated and driven! The founders are still involved, Stanford guys, very, very smart. It's a fun, young atmosphere and they have great parties! Also, there really isn't much of a hierarchy here, the CEO will walk down the hall and say hi to everyone, which is great. The executive level visibility you're able to get here is huge, if you're doing well, people see and acknowledge that. Also-the pay is great!

    Cons

Not much to say here, just be prepared to work hard!

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

    Keep doing what you're doing:)

I worked at Coverity full-time (more than an year)

    Pros

Telecommuter support, good engineers, smart talented and willing employees. important product to have out in the world, needs to be more effective and affordable and fairly priced.

    Cons

micro managers, absolutely no trust approach to running a business, the products aren't really as good as the company declares (believes) it to be, pricing scheme is cheesy and arbitrary, everything is discounted unnecessarily. Contracting model pure nightmarish - quite unbelievable for the modern age -poor customers who have to deal with this company. You asked.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

    Be nicer people.

I worked at Coverity full-time (more than 5 years)

    Pros

Location, Tuesday treats, and expresso machine

    Cons

I have been in the industry for 20+ years and have never seen such a brutal political environment. Direction is not clear and changes constantly. The goal is to keep managment from screaming at you and sending out nasty emails rather than business goals. Screaming is not an exaggeration - happens all the time in team meetings. The whippings will continue until morale improves ...

I worked at Coverity full-time (less than an year)

    Pros

    - Breakfast everyday
    - Most of the employees are really nice/helpful
    - Right next to the Caltrain station
    - Company itself is doing great. They have a good business model, a very intelligent executive board, and the products they offer are unique and 10x better than their competitors. From this standpoint, the company will be very successful.

    Cons

    Okay, where do I start...

    - Horrible Salary/commission with NO room to negotiate.
    - Didn't really get to settle into my role. Training was VERY rushed and lasted a total of 2 days.
    - This is a very male-dominated environment. The only women at the company work in either marketing or HR.
    - Management team is very immature. I got the vibe that they don't really value their employees.
    - Barely got help from HR about benefits/401k/etc. Everything was really rushed and not really planned out too well. Again, immature environment.

I have been working at Coverity full-time (more than 3 years)

    Pros

Super fast paced, Lots of opportunity for those that are motivated. The product is used to make many of the products YOU use on a day to day basis.

Some of the smartest people I have ever worked with, but make no mistake..*everyone* must pull their weight. Coverity captures the essence of the word "teamwork". From the sales execution to the R&D and support teams, Coverity employees make the awesome technology that makes the company. Solid leadership and solid execution quarter after quarter.

Fantastic management team that care about the company and employees AND are not afraid to make the right changes to ensure success.

    Cons

There is no "down time", but this is the software business. You should look long and hard at your software company and it's track record if you expect downtime in enterprise software. Doesn't happen with successful companies!
