I worked at Covisint full-time (more than 5 years)

    Pros

Environment can be flexible, things like not having to take a days sick leave to see a doctor. Three weeks leave is relatively generous.

    Cons

Don't expect any loyalty if you get laid off, they laid of folks with 8 years of seniority with less than 3 weeks severance. Established Detroit execs have a tendency to shout at employees, highly aggressive. No responsibility taken by anyone, lots of finger-pointing. HR processes are non existent. They expect you to be available at night and over weekends. To many directors and managers. "Old boys" run the company and decision making is often done by hallway conversations. Company can change your job, title, role and manager without consulting you.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Concentrate on communications downwards, and set realistic market and employee expectations. Find ways to reward outstanding performers.

I have been working at Covisint full-time (more than a year)

    Pros

It's a job and it that's about it.

    Cons

Senior management is CLUELESS. Product is OLD and doesn't work. Very unhappy customers. OKTA does the same thing for half the price.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Get a new job or learn how to lead by example. The new CEO is just as bad as the old one

I have been working at Covisint

    Pros

The headquarters located in downtown Detroit is a great place to work.

    Cons

No vision for the company , No growth for your career , In fire drill mode 24/7 ,
Just laid off 1/3 of the work force this week.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Treat employees with some respect and not just as mere objects. Have a long term vision. Hire good people. Bring some transparency to the company and communicate the real strategy if you ever have one to the employees.

I have been working at Covisint full-time (more than 5 years)

    Pros

Good opportunities to meet many self-claimed big shots in the company.

    Cons

Too many directors and managers. Almost 1:2 ratio to developers. Old technology. Fire drills everyday. No vision at all.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Overhaul the management. Force out big shots and allow real talent stay.

I have been working at Covisint full-time (less than a year)

    Pros

    Building is nice
Gym ø site is nice if they let us take lunch
    Nothing else

    Cons

Undeveloped work environment for employees, lots of fires, corporate culture runs like India because it seems more than 70% of people are from India. Hierarchy rules and is not modern in approach to employees, project level work does not use creative thinking, just automated response to do what person has done before. High turnover has made this company in a constant mode of 'new team' dynamics.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Take some time to make decisions before just barreling ahead. Get diversity, this feels like I might as well have taken a job in India

    Cons

Very bad management; no personal growth. Having old technology. Lot of dirty politics. Always on fire drill mode. Do not feel belong to.

I have been working at Covisint full-time (less than a year)

    Pros

Coolest technology around with some of the most innovative people in the IT industry. If you work hard, it is recognized and people will think of you as the SME in your domain.

    Cons

It is a culture of working very hard and performing at a high level all of the time. Sometimes, as an employee, you have to step away and take a vacation or personal day.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

To keep moving forward with the employee programs and be transparent about the direction of Covisint.

I have been working at Covisint full-time (more than a year)

    Pros

    nice building
    workout center in building
pockets of good people trying to do the right thing
decent work life balance if not client facing

    Cons

Constantly and consistently managed from short term crisis mentality from the top
Decisions with resounding consequence are made with little to no thought to long term or follow-on implications - the deadline rules all
No work life balance if client facing
they will run you into the ground, blame you for the consequences of their poor decisions and on your resignation they will upload your position to a website, get 100 applicants to fill your spot and start the meat grinder back up.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

The shareholders deserve better. The activist shareholders already know that.
