Pros
Flex Hours

Good Benefits Package
Employee Discounts
Volunteer Opportunities
No Micro Management
Relaxed Work Environment
Cons
Technology is not cutting edge.
Pros
this is a greal place to work. if you have anough time to go on vacation. just do it as long as the system lets you do it. no need to talk to management
Cons
some positions are hard advance from.
Advice to Senior Management
Be more Proactive than Reactive
Pros
9-to-5 and weekdays work schedule, can refuse to do work without repercussion. Low stress because management is satisfied being #5 in the cable/satelite industry. If you are unable to track project budgets well, this place is for you because the budgets are guess-work.
Cons
If you have ambition to achieve or work for top-tier company, you will be frustrated here. Project financial management is so unorthodox, it really isn't managed. Good place to learn what NOT to do because that's the "best practice" at Cox Communications. Union mentality, 9-to-5, weekdays only, no competitiveness to be #1 company in industry, job security contributes to lack of competitiveness, good talent leaves company leaving the less talented to be promoted (Peter's Principle survives well here), penny-pinching company.
Advice to Senior Management
Don't rely on the deep pockets of the Cox family or the security of the state utilities commission carved geographic areas for different cable companies. Since 2008, AT&T and Verizon each have already reached 4 million customers with Uverse and FIOS, compared to your 6 million customers. It won't be long before your market share is reduced to less than AT&T Uverse and/or Verizon FIOS. Cox Communications will lose market share and fade into oblivion. Your work force is not competitive.
Pros
Benefits, PTO, Pay isn't bad
Cons
They make new positions and then in a month to a year do away with alot of them.
Advice to Senior Management
If you create a position, make sure it will be a position that the company needs for the future.
Pros
You can make a decent paycheck if your willing to work hard and are ok working long hours including, weekends and holidays. Depending on what type of neighborhood you work in, the tips can be pretty good.
Cons
Poor communication from management to workers Policy changes are frequent and spontaneous. Overall organization is poorly maintained or managed and common sense solutions are ignored.
Advice to Senior Management
Invite your contractors to the employee meetings and encourage feedback from them. Take suggestions for improvement more from the people in the field than those in the office.
Pros
Nice people and decent benefits
Cons
Merging systems, layoffs, growing too fast with no support
Pros
Pay, Vacation Time, Insurance, Casual Dress, and Discounted Services.
Cons
Inconstant direction from management
Concerns over yearly job eliminations over the past few years
Advice to Senior Management
In the past few years many changes have been made in Cox systems that I feel have affected the company and sites for the worse. The customers used to be the first priority. But, that isn't how Cox is now treating it's customers and while they make have the better products in some markets for now. If their not careful, they will eventually lose to competitors even with worse products. You only need to read comments on forum site and even in news articles posted to see this.
Pros
good pay, great benefits, free cable, and internet, positive work environment, employee bill of rights, great people to work with and have as co workers
Cons
leadership in certain departments do not provide feedback on performance, tell you to keep doing what your doing and when review time comes around itd not so great and you had no idea what you needed to improve to meet standards.
Pros
Great work/life balance. Respectful management.
Cons
Can be a bit slow paced at times but likely due to the history of the industry.
Advice to Senior Management
Keep it up.
Pros
The work schedule and the environment are unsurpassed.
Cons
Health insurance plan leaves something to be desired
Advice to Senior Management
They are promoted from within and have a good understanding of what the reps need to be successful. They are fair and easy going.
