Current Employee – been working at Cox Communications full-time for more than 3 years
Pros – Used to really love the people I worked with
If you know the right people, you will have great opportunities to learn + branch out
Cons – Too many contractors taking over previous full time employee jobs
Many people being let go or quitting who were a real asset to Cox
It is frustrating to see new people being brought in who don't know anything about what they're supposed to do and aren't willing to learn.
Advice to Senior Management – The people who have been here for 15+ years and really know their stuff are the people we should keep, not let go.
No, I would not recommend this company to a friend – I'm not optimistic about the outlook for this company

Current Employee – been working at Cox Communications full-time for more than 3 years
Pros – Used to be a great company and wonderful pay, but since we've gone corporate, it's all about the $1 .. long term employees are hard to find their any more
Cons – Sales Reps & Supervisors only care about themselves ... HORRIBLE PROCESSES IN PLACE ... one department never knows what the other is doing
Advice to Senior Management – Quit trying to make yourself look better by belittleing the other supervisors ....No one likes your fake smiles, just keep it real.

Former Employee – worked at Cox Communications full-time for more than 7 years
Pros – Lots of vacation time give raises every 6 months.
Cons – Micro-managed all the time. Company does not give you enough time to fix the problem at customers home which causes repeats on the technician. Very little room for advancement.

Current Employee – been working at Cox Communications full-time for less than a year
Pros – Awesome cheap benefits, good culture
Cons – Commission structure for third party sales is awful
Advice to Senior Management – Get more involved, give us tools to succeed, it is already hard to hit quotas in third party places so help us to get close and do not forget we are here

Former Employee – worked at Cox Communications full-time for more than 7 years
Pros – The people and the benefits are top notch. Benefits start on day one. They maintain a culture of personal empowerment for all empolyees.
Cons – The lay-off was sudden and without warning. I felt like a criminal when they escorted us out of the building in the middle of the day. We weren't offered a chance to change departments.
Advice to Senior Management – When reducing the work force in one department, offer the unfortunates a chance too fill vacancies in other departments.

Former Employee – worked at Cox Communications as a contractor for less than a year
Pros – Highly functional and spacious work areas, with large cubes, plenty of windows to let in sunlight, and lots of glass doors that give the office an open feel.
Cons – Misdirected effort combined with unrealistic deadlines make for high pressure projects with little value.
Advice to Senior Management – Treat people with respect. Weed out managers who act like angry high school teachers. Push people and they'll move, but not where you want them to go. Pull people and they'll move with you. Respect, appreciation and encouragement are winning strategies. Intimidate your workers and everyone loses.

Current Employee – been working at Cox Communications full-time for more than 10 years
Pros – Great products to sell and great resources. My co-workers are good people & mid level managers are very supportive
Cons – The Upper management team and the sales team structure is constantly being shuffled every year. Sales people are saddled with too many procedures and sales structure is over burden with corporate bureaucracy. Management won't make the investment to upgrade processes that would better manage product inventory. The sales support structure needs to be overhauled to better support the sales team. Compensation is not commensurate with the dramatic increases in yearly budgets.
Advice to Senior Management – Less cheerleading & be more open to criticism. Don't view people as negative when people are trying to be realistic when voicing their opinions.
