    Pros

The benefits are great. There are not to many jobs that you can make this kind of money without a degree and only work 40 hours a week.

    Cons

I'm just not a call center gal. The training did not prepare you for the actual job. Few people were promoted. I worked with some really sharp dedicated employees that had been applying for promotions for years to no avail.

    Advice to Management

Reward those that do the job right and watch out for those that cheat the system, loose your company customers in the long run and wind up with the best paychecks.

    Pros

Cable, Internet, and Home Telephone benefits.
Great health, vision, and dental insurance with an optional flexible spending account.
The supervisors and upper management really do care about your success, they're always supportive and energetic, and you can earn a bunch of money if you can sell!

    Cons

Even in tech support, selling is required and a part of your job and there is a scorecard and metrics you have to meet. Working in a call center, at a desk for hours a day, and staring at computer monitors for that long can take its toll on your body and physical health. Your schedule is determined by a shift bid and your rank is determined by seniority and your scorecard metrics. Some of the shifts that are less desirable are less desirable for a reason. They do not leave much room to do much outside of work.

    Pros

I love the work environment. You do have a transparent, open working environment as well as an open door policy with your supervisors. I also think the benefits are amazing- especially vacation time. Overall, best job I've had!

    Cons

In a creative position, sometimes you feel a little stifled. As a modern company, I'd love to see more modern, open space working environments.

    Pros

Working with the employees, meeting new people every day, company has great beneits, they provide good training and offer incentives

    Cons

Didn't communicate very weel with employees, was always changing pay structure and policies as they seemed necessary, to much micromanagement.

    Advice to Management

Treat the employees like they care about them, say you are emplowered to whatever you have to do to make customers happy, but not always true. Hire management that know about the position they are managing.

    Pros

Get big services for less prices; get an opportunity to select a new shift, bid for your convenient working hours when new hours becomes available every year; cash in bonus for sales;. a reloaded reward cards for incentives.

    Cons

a lot of work, needs a lot of patience, poor turn over, pay is average compared to the workload; demanding aggressiveness to pursue sales on customers.

    Advice to Management

Increase pay especially to your big pool of technical staff who does tremendous amount of job for the company. The small tokens are okay, but increase pay would make staff committed to keep their jobs and give your staff a sense of loyalty to the company.

    Pros

Good benefits, training provided, a lot of promoting from within. Benefits include college reimbursement, discounts on Cox services, fair to good medical, 401K matching, and a pension plan.

    Cons

Employee discounts include a lot of restrictions and rules. Also some policies are so strict that there is no room for any leeway.

    Advice to Management

The upper management needs to be sure to keep in touch with lower levels personally, just not taking only the information from their immediate subordinates.

    Cons

Constant changes in metrics and inaccuracy in how they attained the info.

    Advice to Management

Simplify the ways you score employee metrics. Develop a more consistent method.

    Pros

Excellent benefits and pay. Great vacation benefits.

    Cons

No support from immediate supervisor. Hired and worked there for three weeks. Got no direction or communication from my manager for the first two weeks. Boss was too busy to train, provide direction, or give any support. Third week, boss dumped several projects on me with no support or training. Basically was told how inept I was and what was I going to do to improve my skills. But not given any guidance on how to do so.

    Advice to Management

Don't hire someone that you are truly not interested in helping the employee develop his / or her skills.

You should have hired from within, and found someone who had Cox experience if you were not willing to train them.
