Pros
Good benefits package, Cox is involved in the community
Cons
It is a very militaristic environment, feedback from the field is not taken or asked for.
Advice to Senior Management
Find more senior managers that are involved in the field and not sitting behind a desk 24/7
Pros
Reduced rate cable/internet services and a fair benefits package are the only redeeming qualities left at this organization.
Cons
Unethical management from the top down. Business decisions are often based on who the decision maker is in bed with. Mediocrity is rewarded and promoted. "Cox Values" and other catch phrases are used by all levels of management but their actions rarely conform to the "values" they spew. Not a results oriented company, ridiculous procedures are more important than results. Two good examples are their IT and Travel departments. Employees are viewed as a necessary yet expendable nuisance.
Advice to Senior Management
It's time to open your eyes and clean house boys.
Pros
The benefits is competitive with a pension plan, 401k, health care, dental care, opportunities to give back to and be connected with the communities, supportive team work environments and great publications, news coverage and websites.
Cons
The salaries are low, the commissions are way below average, the paid time off is very limited and slow to increase, there are no personal days, there have been recent mass layoffs in the company.
Advice to Senior Management
Senior Management need to provide more guidance, give more feedback of employee work abilities, giving directions to employees on how to become more effective and competitive in the marketplace, the need of more praise when doing well and above satisfaction, the need of more feedback on improving skills when needed and how to do so, and the need to give more competitive pay that is comparable to same positions in the state.
Pros
The benefits are wonderful and generous.
Cons
It is hard to move up in this company.
Advice to Senior Management

Cons
