Pros
work/life balance, emphasis on employees, people are happy. Benefits of long-term employment
Cons
Many of their business are mature or fading, lots of ongoing restructuring and cuts
Advice to Senior Management
I think they are doing the best job possible considering the industries they are in
Pros
Private, well capitalized and stable.
Cons
Very cliquish, slow to change.
Advice to Senior Management
Fewer meetings that lead to other meetings whack lead to inaction that results in missed market opportunity.
Pros
Overall, good solid company and benefits. The product, kudzu.com, is actually an effective local search tool for businesses, which is rare.
Cons
Little to no vision about how to turn a local product into a national one. Lots of money spent on a national TV partnership with next to nothing commensurate online. It's upsetting because they had to let go of a lot of good people this year because the sales just didn't happen.
Advice to Senior Management
Bring someone in with a solid vision and proven strategy who knows how to implement it.
Pros
Number 1 station in Orlando market, great on resume, great place to learn.
Cons
Co-workers thrives on GOSSIP, work schedule always changes with out notice.
Advice to Senior Management
None
Pros
The overall Benefits package is fairly good, and the amount of vacation accrued for time worked is very good (144 hours after 1 year of full time)
Cons
Since I started working here 4 years ago, The amount of work that has been placed on the Security department has more than quadrupled, they've eliminated 2 other departments and given their work load to Security. This wouldn't be a problem if we didn't have corporate managers yelling at us to perfectly perform jobs that we were never actually trained to do in any way. In the last 4 months they've the department back so badly that of the 400 or so hours that the security officers have left of vacation we can't afford to take any of it, because we don't have the personnel to cover all the shifts.
The upper management routinely makes "cutbacks" and changes to operations with no thought or care as to how much more difficult it makes our jobs. This year we didn't receive cost of living increases, yet the auction had plenty of money to install several new fences and shiny new signs for all the buildings.
Advice to Senior Management
stop screwing your employees so badly that they don't want to work here anymore. don't tell them money is so tight that you can't afford raises and then spend loads of money on a new gate for a spot that never had one, signs denoting what each building is, and signs for fence posts saying what area of the lot you happen to be in
Pros

Advice to Senior Management

Peoples career goals need to be taken into account.
Pros
Good pay. Hours are fine. The brand is strong
Cons
Management does not do a good job of "leading by example" They would rather go on the perfect sales call than really see the big picture how tough it is out there
Advice to Senior Management
GET your head out of the sand and roll up your sleeves once in a while
Pros
Good benefits. Overall good vision.
Cons
Inconsistent management. Decisions are very political.
