I worked at CoxHealth full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

Cox offers lots of opportunities, a great atmosphere, many great people, l loved my time at Cox. The ratio of patients to pcas was always manageable.

    Cons

The schedules were very rigid for certain employees. If you were not in nursing school, they would not work with your hours.

    Advice to Management

Take into account the lives your employees have. I would have gladly worked there longer if I could have altered my schedule slightly after my husband found a new job. When someone is willing to give you 12 hours a day, I feel you should be a little more flexible on when those 12 hours are. We worked opposite shifts because if I had to pay for daycare, even with employee rates, I would have been better off staying home.

    I worked at CoxHealth full-time

    Pros

They provide excellent patient care, so you know you are working among the best. Everyone works as a team and is very friendly. After you have been there for several years, you earn a lot of vacation time.

    Cons

Wages are far below the national average for similar positions, and even for the state of Missouri. Raises are very small, they nickle and dime you along unless you are in upper management. Health insurance is disappointing, especially considering employees receive their care from the hospital they work for. The deductibles and out-of-pocket maximums are high.

    Advice to Management

Contract out the health insurance, if it will save the employees money and provide better insurance. Reward loyal employees with better raises to show they are valued.

I worked at CoxHealth full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

It's better than having no job at all, I suppose. There are some things company wide that are nice, such as gym memberships, etc.

    Cons

Pay is nearly 2.00 less than hospitals a mile down the street!!! clickish atmosphere, difficult to work through office politics, management won't speak about issues until serious problems arise

    Advice to Management

better communication, less back-biting, Pay the workers their worth

    Negative Outlook

    Pros

It was possible for me to spend my entire 8 hour shift studying for my college classes.

    Cons

This company is VERY stingy on pay. This position makes less than the hospital's janitorial staff. Also, must sit for 8 hours-no food, drink, or electronic devices-with only one 30 minute lunch break. Nurses and PCA's expect you to do some of their patient care jobs for them.

    Advice to Management

    Consider paying your employees more.
