A large french banks with good fundamentals

Commercial Banker (Current Employee) Paris (France)

ProsNice people - which goes a long way - solid company where large provisions are a thing of the past (I hope). The culture is one of consensus which ensures a mellow atmosphere compared to other banks.

ConsNot a lot of entrepreneurship - a very "French" Bank with no great ambitions abroad. They got burned by past acquisitions (Greece in particuar) only to get out with heavy provisions. Hopefully a time of the past.

Advice to Senior ManagementInvest in the international network.

    Analyst

    Analyst (Former Employee) Paris (France)

ProsGood people, I was given a lot of opportunities to take initiatives at a very early stage, overall a great learning environment.

ConsVery French environment for an investment bank. Long hours, little flexibility regarding hours. Lack of cooperation between teams, and sometimes a bit of an everybody for himself environment.

Advice to Senior ManagementShould foster a culture of cooperation and send out more positive messages to employees.

    Great Place

    Analyst (Current Employee) Paris (France)

ProsGreat place to work with many competent people to learn from. Constantly learning with many opportunities to show your abilities.

ConsThe culture is quite competitive and you may find yourself competing against those in similar positions. But overall a great place.

Advice to Senior ManagementBegin moving more globally and expanding into emerging markets. Try and stay away from investing in the struggling European markets.

    An overall good company

    Analyst (Current Employee) Paris (France)

Pros-leader in Structured Finance, and therefore highly competent teams in this field
-good pay compared to the market
-offices in a lot of locations

    Cons-very bad office
-very indivualist behaviour of part of the staff
    -obsolete IT infrastructure
-not a lot of room for professionnal growth

Advice to Senior ManagementTeam spirit must be thought over, and management could be improved. Lack of communication between staff, strategy not completely clear.
