Pros
good food at a discount
Cons
poor management because they are not trained well.
Advice to Senior Management
hire better managers
Pros
I love the people I work with
Cons
The policies are a bit dated, and not only that only seem to apply to certain people. Some managers often dont know what they are doing and cause more stress in a situation than help. This is the only retail enviroment I've been in where they tell you to take items off the floor and put them in the stock room... you can't sell something that isnt on the sales floor.
Advice to Senior Management
Realize the size of your stores and dont send more product than will fit in your stock room. Train managers better and select managers that can actually handle the job. Accept that times have changed, tattoos and piercings are common now.
Pros
good wages; can be a fun environment if push for it
Cons
management isn't evaluated as often as should be, nor very accurately; can be very disorganized at times, especially during transition periods from system to system
Pros
Salary and benefits....Thats about it. The company is ran by people born and raised in Lebanon, Tn who have no idea whats happened in the world since Columbus landed.
Cons
Caught in the past. Obsessed with posessing this image of employment in the 40's & 50's
Advice to Senior Management
Be more concerned with embracing differences. Accept people who are "different" because its right and your non discrimination policy insists on it. Stop trying to pretend like everyone is "country fresh" (a rediculious phrase the company passes along to mean everyone acts like they are trapped in the early 19th century)
Pros
they work around my scheduling
health insurance
Cons
hours of operation
long hours of being on your feet with few opportunities to sit down
Pros
for the most part great people to work with
ok benefits compared to other restaurants
Cons
besides the "par" program not a clear pat to advance, too much favoritism from management and if someone complains there is retaliation even if they tell you there is not
Advice to Senior Management
need to pay more attention to feed back from employees at store level and avoid retaliation,it is common sence if more than a few employees are telling you the same thing is going on chances are it is true.
management by intimidation does not produce results
Pros
This is a flexible job, and you can make great money if you are quick, efficient, and friendly. The servers here are not snooty like in other alcohol serving restaurants, and we feel like a big family. Loved working here, managers always help you!!
Cons
Very fast-paced, if everyone is not working as a team, you will end up doing half of other peoples work, but teamwork is key here for everyone to make money.
Advice to Senior Management
Continue to jump in as needed to help employees, promote teamwork
Pros
lots f training. All of the time.
Cons
changes all of the time.
Advice to Senior Management
truly praise your employees.
Pros
There are some great people who really care for the Brand work there.
The pay and bonuses are good.
For the most part you know what's expected.
Cons
Too much “buddy- buddy” between direct reports and supervisors. Not a performance based company.
As a DM the role is more of an area manager, very hands on. My DM became manager of the day during a visit.
Advice to Senior Management
Plot a course and stay on it. Directions to the field change too often. All the cost cutting of the past several years is also hurting guest service and food quality.
Pros
If you are a hostess you constantly get to do different things.
Cons
As a hostess sometimes waiters/waitresses do not clean up their tables or even if they do they leave them a mess. This becomes your job as does occasionally selling items in the store, and taking order. Management treats people who have worked their longer better then they treat new employees. Prepare to be bossed around by not only management but by seniority.
