I worked at Crane Worldwide Logistics full-time (more than a year)

    Pros

Overall good investment in employees, good facilities and much better treatment than at other freight-forwarders.

    Cons

A bit oversold to new employees. The work lacks intellectual stimulation. If you are salaried they expect far too many working hours.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Don't oversell opportunities to new employees. Be honest about what it is you expect them to do (sales, mundane paper-pushing, etc), and they will find the upsides themselves.

I worked at Crane Worldwide Logistics full-time (more than 3 years)

    Pros

Worked at the corporate office. The desk level people are amazing and it's a very young atmosphere. You do have perks such as gym and a deli and beautiful building. But that's where it all ends....

    Cons

Management is awful and doesn't have the slightest idea as to what they're doing, there is no guidance or training so be prepared to teach yourself and than get told you're doing it wrong. Management is never on the same page and they all will teach you how to achieve something differently. Many promises were made that they could never follow through with. The higher ups have amazing views of how the company should be but they could never follow through.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Switch out all management completely, put managers above something of their expertise, it is not all about the reports. There is no such thing as a mandatory Saturday or Sunday. Get off your high horse!!

I worked at Crane Worldwide Logistics full-time (more than a year)

    Pros

CWW has lots of money to spend and they really focus on employees and benefits and perks. The corporate office is lavish and gorgeous, Pay is good and most people are very friendly.

    Cons

Management cares deeply and wants this to be an excellent company. Getting that sentiment to filter down to the rank and file is easier said than done. While the corporate facility is amazing, other satellite offices struggle to keep the doors open. Even though "Challenge the Norm" is their motto, they're often caught up in how they've always done things.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Ever see the show "Undercover boss"? That would be a great thing for you all to do sometime. See what it really feels like to be working in the trenches.

I worked at Crane Worldwide Logistics full-time (more than 3 years)

    Pros

This is a high energy company with probably the best people to work with I have ever had.

    Cons

highly demanding, little reward, always promises of a better future, little effort to actually achieve the better future for the employees. High burnout rate. Many people that have been there a while are skeptical of the promises.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

take a good hard look at promises you make to employees and do some serious self reflection on why they are not kept.
