    Pros

    decent benefits, if you qualify.....

    Cons

worst working conditions I have ever been subjected to. Terrible work life balance, they believe they have bought and paid for your entire life by employing you.

    Pros

None. Literally none. I sat here for five minutes and tried to think of one PRO.

    Cons

Internal standards on top of what clients want, make hitting any bonus impossible. Lowball salaries, and too many layers to appease before the report actually gets to the client.

The "National Quality Review Team" is a complete joke. The nit picking is brutal. For experienced adjusters, LOOK ELSEWHERE. For someone who is looking to get into the adjusting business, its a good place to start. But thats it. A launching pad to bigger and better things.

Senior management is completely out of touch and don't really know the day to day obstacles that hold the front line adjusters down.

Way too many hours (up to 75-80 hrs) for the pay.

On-call rotation, terrible. Do you really want to leave at 4am to see a truck accident and then work a full day after?

Crawford touts the program to clients who look for casualty adjusters to investigate car and trucking accidents in the middle of the night for 5-6 hours, even property adjusters who have no experience doing so, with no training. They tell you to not call yourself a property adjuster because if the client finds out, they will be upset its not a casualty adjuster.

    Advice to Management

Handle some claims once in a while, bring yourselves back down to earth. Being so numbers driven and not factoring in ANY intangibles makes this a horrific work place.

Pressure from above is relentless. Lot of email tough guys, but when confronted, turtle up.

    Pros

    pay and benefits are decent

    Cons

To many managers, everyone wants to advise on how things should be done, however, too few employees actually do this work.
By far the worst job I've ever had, constantly on your back. Either so much work to do, you can't keep up, or slow times during which the managers are constantly on your back because there is no work.

    Advice to Management

Do some actual field work instead playing number games all day, trying to find a way to climb the corporate ladder at the cost of everybody in your way.

    Pros

Few. Crawford is trying to recapture it's former status by requiring more and more from it's adjuster's, while providing less.

On the plus side, Crawford is a large company and you can transfer into almost any market. Recent college grads wanting to enter the adjusting business may find entry level opportunities, but only entry level.

    Cons

Pay, work hours and low level managers who were hired because nobody competent wanted the position.

    Advice to Management

Talent and expertise costs money. There is no other was to develop, retain or acquire hard working, knowledgeable adjusters...other than paying well.
