I have been working at Creative Channel Services full-time

    Pros

The one positive point is the autonomy to schedule, create, and execute tasks around your personal schedule. There are certain parameters that must be met but typically you know the window going into the project.

    Cons

Middle management, as seems to be the case with most 3PL companies, is less than professional. They are typically people plucked from the field and placed into these positions. Most feel they are now in power and will attempt to wield that power with thought or remembering where they came from.

    Advice to Management

Upper management: take a good hard look at middle management as they are the ones that maintain and have control over your most vital asset, the field rep or market manager. Look for extensive turnover, listen in on conference calls, try to contact a middle manager during "off" hours and see how long it takes for a response. I think you would be surprised.

I have been working at Creative Channel Services full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

We are family! Everyone is allowed to make mistakes, we just need to learn from them. CCS is small enough that we mostly know who each other are and develop great friendships whether in office or remotely.

    Cons

Sometimes cutting corners to closely to save money causes last minute stress getting projects launched. Sometimes execs don't hear what the needs are to get the job done in a timely manner without so much stress.

    Advice to Management

Look at what causes delays and poor launch of projects. Those who are closest on the programs have the best insights for creating a better program and how to avoid the pitfalls that continue to happen when changes are not being made.

I worked at Creative Channel Services (More than a year)

    Pros

Being on your own makes you responsible for achieving goals and insuring the best use of your time.

    Cons

Some assignments are not so bad, but working in Best Buy is a controlled environment that mandates a certain conformity and gives little freedom to be comfortable selling. Interns and others are constantly watching you, and they take brand loyalty in an adverse way, as what is competition and even inferior to us is just another brand they sell all the time.

    Advice to Management

More supervision or mystery shops of some stores with new personnel might reveal they are not there much of the time! I have observed this a few times.

    Pros

Allow me to improve my relationship building skills. I learned to listen to the customers concerns and helped overcome objections by educating them on the benefits of the products I was promoting.

    Cons

I operated as a vendor at Home Depot. There was a need for closer communication between management of Creative Channels, the company whose product I was promoting and Home Depot in order to ensure that we had effective tools available to us in order to demonstrate the usefulness of the products being promoted.
