CFG is a great family to be a part of.

    Anonymous Employee (Former Employee)

ProsCFG has a great core group of leaders who are truly working "for the people".

ConsThere did not seem to be much of a career path if you were not an agent.

Yes, I would recommend this company to a friend

Great place to work if you have a good natural market and good work ethic.

Marketing Associate (Former Employee) Newtown Square, PA

ProsIf you have a lot of affulent people in your close circle that you are comfortable soliciting you can make a lot of money at a very young age at CFG

ConsIf you don't have a good natural market you will be paired up with a senior planner who will abuse your natural market for everything it's worth and once there is nothing left leave you to fend for yourself. Very misleading hiring process in the sense of compensation, benefits, quotas, and requriements.

Advice to Senior ManagementBe more selective on people you hire, as it reflects on the ability or inabiltiy of the services provided.

    Don't even bother

Marketing Associate (Former Employee) Newtown Square, PA

ProsHonestly, above being a place to get your securities and insurance licenses, I can't think of anything else to put. After that, move on.

ConsThose licenses? You pay for them. And you pay for the use of your computer in your cubicle. And you pay for your cubicle. And you pay for marketing materials...All while being on a 3 year draw that guarantees you $850 every two weeks noo matter how much you sell. If you are lucky you will be a lackey for a senior producer, then you get to work over 60 hours a week, including saturdays, making cold calls all day and night in the hope for 5% of some case...IF they want to give it to you. But mostly, your job is to sell everyone you know and love as much life insurance as possible. Do your own research into this firm then look elsewhere. You won't learn a thing about running a business or giving financial advice.

Advice to Senior ManagementWhile it is most certainly a sales position, focus more on developing the financial advice aspect on the position. If you did that, the young associates would develop and get better at their jobs, and more people would stay with CFG. You would waste a lot less time and money

Great place to work, but its not for everyone.

Registered Representative (Current Employee) Newtown Square, PA

ProsGreat place to work, easy going people create a friendly environment to work in. Senior Partners help the younger guys and girls get their feet wet. An easy place to succeed if you really put the time in. The training and support you get at CFG are second to none in the industry.

ConsLike any sales job there are the stresses of making money. There are a lot of instances, especially early on when you are going to be out on appointments at night and even sometimes on the weekend.

Advice to Senior ManagementStay more organized and stick to just managing the people underneath you. If you want to be a producer then be a producer. If you want to be a manager then be a manager, its one or the other.

depends what you are looking for

    Financial Advisor (Current Employee)

    ProsIncome Unlimited
Many people who can help close very large cases
Ability to learn to work with the affluent marketplace

    ConsManagement is sub-par
Young advisors get lost in the shuffle
    Insurance based solutions

Advice to Senior Managementseriously evaluate the management in place, and what benefit they bring other than recruiting. The firm is geared towards the top producers and they are missing the developing advisors.

No, I would not recommend this company to a friend
