I worked at Creative Information Technology full-time (more than an year)

    Pros

+ I started with CITI after a three-month period of unemployment and this was my first post-college job that lasted longer than 8 months.
+ PMPs and offsight management were unobtrusive and supportive in helping me settle into my role as an offsight contractor for the State Department.
+ Even though my contract with CITI expired 15 months after I started, I am still working at State through a different contracting company, so it opened more doors for my career.

    Cons

    - The benefits could be better. Before my long unemployment I came from a tech startup that gave employees a preloaded FSA with $5k on it, four weeks of PTO, profit sharing, a 6% match for its 401k, great health and dental coverage, and paid for my metro. CITI's benefits on the other hand are a modest 3% match on the 401k, decent health and dental insurance, and 3 weeks of PTO, and you must allocate your own money to an HSA/FSA and transportation. To receive one week of severance if your contract expires, you must have worked for CITI for one year.
    - The pay schedule is strange, paying employees on the 7th and 22nd of every month.
    - Working as an offsight employee can make you feel detached from the rest of the company.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Find ways to better engage offsight employees and provide better compensation and benefits to attract and retain talent.

    Pros

A lot of the people are very nice and easy to get along with, just make sure that this is worth more to you than the chance to advance your career.

    Cons

Don't expect to get ahead or get raises in this company. More likely than not, unless you are friends/family with the senior management you'll be stuck exactly where you were hired.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Treat your employees better and pay them what they are worth.

I have been working at Creative Information Technology full-time (more than an year)

    Pros

Very laid back work environment, but it is due to the fact that the CEO does not care.

    Cons

Very unsupportive CEO and poor leadership skills. Does not allow his upper management team to do their jobs and it has reflected poor on the entire company. It has lead to a very toxic work environment, and unmotivated team. They give promotions and title changes but will not give you the financial compensation that is deserved with the promotions.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

The CEO needs to reorganize his department heads and let them do their job. I feel like this will allow for a better flow of business. He does not need to over involve himself in each department and focus on the important matters of business; instead of checking invoices, he should leave it to his accounting department.

I worked at Creative Information Technology full-time (more than an year)

    Pros

The people are great and management is unobtrusive. There was a VP on our team and he did not let his VP duties intrude on the team at all. The PMPs actually understood project management, which has not been the case everywhere I have worked..

    Cons

It seemed like our project wasn't taken seriously - partially because it wasn't related to DHS, and partly because no one at HQ ever thought of us as co-workers.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Share the excitement with the employees working on the smaller projects. Also, try to be a little softer when the layoffs come - the HR person who did my exit interview was openly irritated that the company had to give me severance pay, since I had passed the 1 year mark the same month I was laid off.
