Pros
Company is very good at what they do.
Cons
Management is overly aggressive with headcoutn reduction, cuts, etc
Advice to Senior Management
Make sure that employees do not feel totally disposable
Pros
If you have children you need to feed in a depressed metro Detroit or Las Vegas economy, Credit Acceptance is an option because it's a financially stable company.
Cons
Constant downward pressure to reduce headcount. Not much understanding of the fact you need people to do the actual work. Management consistently uses performance management to reduce headcount to take the easy way to getting lean. Going from an above average review rating (4-3.5) to an out the door rating (2.5-2) in one quarter is a fairly typical tactic. Despite all this they are very process heavy and could write the book on micromanagement. Pro's from when I started two years ago such as benefits and training have been scaled down, other things such as the annual Christmas Party have been eliminated despite record profits.
Advice to Senior Management
With fear as your new corporate mantra, you're going to have a hard time keeping your stock at a nice price in the long run.
Pros
Some very good leaders. Depending on your department (and therefore leader), you may love this company.
Very healthy company, excellent profit sharing lately.
Cons
Politics are becoming a problem. CACC is not the small company that it once was.
Some teams are healthy and supportive, while others CYA all day every day.
Advice to Senior Management
Take the company survey very seriously. Those that are still here, and still motivated to do good work, are dwindling.
Pros
the hourly pay
the great monthly bonuses
being able to set my own schedule
Cons
At first i enjoyed working here, I thought i had it made being a college student making over 14.00 an hour + monthly bonuses and making my own schedule. little did i know it was too good to be true...even though there are alot of pros working here the negatives definently outweigh that...negatives include
childish supervisors
reading a script to the customers as if they are dumb
and listening to the phone call and critiquing every little thing you say
this job caused me to have horrible migraines...I had to quit
Advice to Senior Management
supervisors need to grow up and stop gossiping worse than high school students, also allow collectors to collect dont hover over them to collect how you wnt them to collect....the company will not survive like that bc everyone will leave.
Pros
You don't have to have knowledge and you can get hired. Credit Acceptance is a great place for someone with very little skills to get hired. If you use them right you can learn and then move on to a better company. You will need to be a self starter and ask others to train you as management will just dump you in the job. If you make errors they will talk to you, but they will not help you learn how to do the job.
Cons
Not a team enviroment. Good old boys club with management.
Not real ethical. Do not follow all laws for taxing wages.
Many managers do not know the work of the area they manage.
They will know a manager is a problem and let them contiue in their position. I saw many issues and when they were brought up management got upset. They did not want to hear about them.
Advice to Senior Management
You need to get individuals with experience and let them make the changes to make you be an ethical company.
Need to be consistent. Don't promote just because someone is a friend.
