Pros
Product knowledge, environment, gym, diner
Cons
Internal progression between different departments
Advice to Senior Management
Encourage internal progression between departments
Pros
Stable and well capitalised bank. Credit Suisse has good trading platforms in fixed income foreign exchange and equity derivatives. Effective back office and control functions.
Cons
Credit Suisse has three main sylos, private bank , asset management and investment banking. There is still much work to do to integrate e operation of these business. Within the investment bank there are also sylos which could benefit from better integration.
Pros
Accommodating to work/family life depending on your particular area especially for those with children obligations
Value and Respect for those of different religiouns and cultures
Cons
Difficult to move internally before spending at least 18 months in your role.
Lack of support from senior management
Lack of investment in IT solutions to reoccuring problems which will hold the business back and potential loss of clients.
Advice to Senior Management
Be more willing to lend supprt to their teams in times of lack of human resources and perform roles not necessarily in their job desrciption during difficult times.
Push for more investment in IT resources.
Pros
you get a fair deal if you are in the inner crowd
Cons
Long hours - depending on the departments
Pros
Great Team, highly technical skillset required/expected.
1st line management V good - willing to fight for staff and in some aspect themselves as well.
Cons
Senior Management - cost efficency drives driven by bean counters (accountants) Not always condusive to what teh business requires.
Move from support group - to BU aligned model - ends up with Business then jsut paying for more headcount to retain the perceived level of service they expect.
Not willing to listen to advice from levels below tehm.
Advice to Senior Management
Listen to your staff. When you say "Staff are our best investment" - don't mean they're the quickest/most cost efficient of aving costs by getting rid of them.
Pros
Good compensation, prestigeous place to work. A company that has future prospects in the present climate.
Cons
Completely bureaucratic, bosses are workoholics, have no communication skills, and expect you to have no life, they micromanage everything, employees in my department extremely dissatisfied.
Advice to Senior Management
Learn to delegate without micromanaging everything, and stop creating problems where there are none. Understand work/ life balance.
