Pros
Non-management peers were professional and looking for ways to make improvements
Cons
Weak leadership with no plan in place for improvement. No clear vision for individual team or entire department.
Advice to Senior Management
Hold one on one sessions with empolyees to understand issues and hurdles of deliverables; hire competent managers or train new managers immediately and monitor performance via team's feedback
Pros
Awesome communication among the members as well as clients. East to learn new things from each other and great environment.
Cons
Many of its trading strategy is mainly focused on bonds and its derivatives, more of secure asset compared to other company.
Advice to Senior Management
It is awesome place to work. However, it seems like company is pursuing too secure strategy in trading. More risk taking seems to be required.
Pros
Good Work from Home facility which actually takes care of work-life balance concerns. Work is assigned as per capacity and challenges given considering the capabilities of the person
Cons
Though good but Work from Home facility is misused for leave of absence which many a times not recorded by peers themselves.
Advice to Senior Management
Though the overall Management is good, CoE is looked at as a cost saving centre then a business partner and resolving the employees concerns is secondary to work getting done from Offsite CoE.
Management needs to be more proactive and involved in the workings of the CoE business and not just let the Pune/Mumbai Managers/Directors do what they want to.
Pros
Modern office. Good transport. Great on resume.
Cons
CMMI implementation focussed on repetitive paperwork copying and pasting same info into multiple formats; wasteful of resource. Format over content approach. Senior management allowed to remain for several years despite non delivery on projects, overspend on budgets. Can only conclude it's an old boys club.
Advice to Senior Management
Streamline processes and admin to allow focus on value added work. Learn to plan, forecast and track projects to correct before non delivery, descoping and overspend. Review homegrown admin tools that take weeks to learn when industry tools like ms project would allow anyone with experience to walk in and be productive. Review training plans for management, length of service does not make an effective manager.
Pros
Friendly colleagues, supportative working environment, good learning opportunities, vast valuable resources, various development opportunities which can be seized by juniors
Cons
severe cost cutting, deployment of work to India, ambiguous management messages and promotion communications, limited promotion platforms during tough market conditions
Advice to Senior Management
Clearer and more prompt communication to employees, thorough consideration for important business and operational decisions which include factors more than cost
Pros
Great brand name for work experience.
Cons
No rewards for good work, limited to no promotions. CS does not retain good talent, needs to improve culture.
Advice to Senior Management
Improve culture, improve pay, improve opportunities. Let employees have a voice.
Pros
Decent salary, respectable organization, cs has the right business model, being a Swiss bank has its advantages, building facilities are nice
Cons
IT is poor, Review process is very subjective
Pros
offers one of the best benefits in Wroclaw
Cons
not much of more complicated processes are executed in CoE Wroclaw
Advice to Senior Management
improve internal processes like time reporting and bt reconciliation that steals employees time, and quality of it support which is very poor
Pros
Work life balance although long hours may be expected.
Cons
Cold environment maybe because of the way the organisation is structured.
Pros
Salary benefits are high, with a lot of room for growth. People are friendly; you really get the feeling that you are doing actual important work.
Cons
Because it's a large bank, you will get that typical "stressful" Wall St. feeling. Managers can be strict, and the work environment is definitely more on the quiet, hard-working side than a casual "fun and friendly" work environment.
Advice to Senior Management
Continue to manage employees as usual, but try and be more flexible as well. It would be nice to have a more friendly and open atmosphere, but not sure how possible it is since it's a corporate environment.
